Well, moral of the story is: If you can dodge a game, you can dodge a loss. All I see from Ferndale not showing up was that they had it in their mind that they weren't going to win so why not just not go. All I have to see is Ferndale is BUSH LEAGUE!!!

Maul would have been okay to throw.....He would only need 3 days rest if he pitched 6+ innings on monday.
PIAA pitching rules: 3 innings or less no rest needed
4 innings = 1 days rest
5 innings = 2 days rest
9 innings per day and 14 innings per week

It's a shame the North section had to be decided amongst all this controversy. Whether Portage's field was playable Friday or whether Ferndale dodged the game Saturday because they knew they had a better chance of winning the North by "not showing" as to facing Maul will I guess never be truly known.

One thing is for certain though, Salisbury will play Ferndale whenever the weather allows and there will be no game between Ferndale and Portage unfortunately.

As the game goes does anyone have a scouting reports on Salisbury and Ferndale and how will this game play out? Predictions?

ferndale and salisbury does have nice teams this year! Dorchak is a good baseball player and pitcher and gartrell, eisenhuth, helsel and hess can hit the ball well. Salisbury has beiler and vogt who are good pitchers and hitters along with brandon miller that can stroke the ball. Salisbury doesn't look like much of a team, but they are scrappy as heck and that is the sole sport that they can play with any west pac team! They go all out during baseball season! I say ferndale 8-6 in this game! Both had good seasons and good luck to both. I would go with portage if by some chance they make it if maul pitches! Don't take the elk licks lightly cause they can beat anyone in the west pac, I just think ferndale has an overall better 9 than salisbury and dorchak can control a game like maul did!

Are you serious? Why didn't they just play the game before they gave it to ferndale like they should have? This is the fair and right thing to do because they are in the same section and tied with 3 losses apiece, but the 1 game portage lost was at ferndale and it is only fair that ferndale has to win it outright before being handed the north title! Great job in being fair and letting them play it out for the championship of that section! That was the right thing to do! May the best team win! Good luck to both! If they didn't let this game be played, you would never hear the end of it, because it wasn't fair and didn't make sense!

The Principals of the WestPac schools had an impromptu conference today and came out to what i believe to be the best result and basically what everyone wanted and thats a 1 game winner takes the WestPac North Division title. Cudos to these officials for correcting disservice. Good Luck to both teams tomorrow afternoon.

Is today 2 o'clock @ Portage the proper time and location of the game? If so why the 2 o'clock start?

Can't understand the 2'oclock start....... Maybe crowd control??? Unless parents and fans leave work early, not too many people will see this one, limiting potential problems in the stands. With this weather, a later start would allow the fields to get better prepared.
In any event, the matter will be settled on the field, as it should be............
