nah i pushed the wrong reply button and then was a genius enough to do it again
Re: Beaver
Attendance is becoming a real issue at a lot of schools. It is affecting more than just college football, fellas. Why do you think Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and San Francisco magically got Monday Night Games this year after a year of horrible attendance? NHL got hockey the hell outta Atlanta. NBA had issues as well.
When the budget gets tight, what is the easiest expenditure to cut out of it?

Re: Beaver
When PSU was expanding Beaver Stadium, their motto was "If you build it, they will come". Well, they built it. Now they have 10,000 empty seats for most of their games.
Re: Beaver
Seriously moldo, what is the issue if they have empty seats for some games. There are also 3-4 games a year that unless you have season tickets or $100 in your pocket, you might as well forget getting in. No one outside of you or your bump buddy WPIAL gives two $hit$.

Re: Beaver
A lot of PSU fans are taking notice of the empty seats as well. I'm not concerned about it yet. When it gets to 80k people showing up, I'll be worried.
I think people are just growing very tired of driving from Virginia or Boston to see that team lose or win games 10-7. Its ridiculous.

Re: Beaver
The team is 8-1 and 2 games up on anyone wanting to go to Indianapolis...I don't need to see 41-10 victories every week in order to show up. People just economically can't afford to attend games the way they used too, so they pick and choose the games of their liking. Students also got tired of the run around by administration and that is starting to show in their section.

Re: Beaver
So it has nothing to do w/ the worst 8-1 team in history?

Re: Beaver
I'd rather be the worst 8-1 team in history than the best 4-4 team ever, anyday.
Re: Beaver
Isn't QUALITY better than QUANTITY, at least for the fans? Better games with some losses than alot of wins and a weak schedule?
Re: Beaver
I don't give a flying ******* how the team gets to 8-1. I am not a fan that needs to see a blowout every week to be satisfied. You say they are the worst 8-1 team in history yet the have a defense that is top 5 in the nation, a running back that is putting up 125+ a week and an oline and receiving corps that is very capable of winning a team games.
I get so tired of PSU fans whining about the team every year. If you don't like them find a new one.
This team's only loss came to Alabama by 16. The next closet games Alabama has had all season was a 24 point win to Arkansas and 28 point beat down to Florida.
