Yinz do know that public schools recruit as well. I know of a plethora of stories where kids would dip on a horrid school to play for a powerhouse. Won't name the schools involved. But it happens.

To me that's a lateral move. I don't know if there are larger Catholic Schools in D6, but I'd rather send my kid to a school where he'll get publicity. A Class A Catholic School won't achieve the same objective as a Pittsburgh Central Catholic or Erie Cathedral Prep would. just sayin. But where I live at now in Houston PA, Chartiers-Houston is a fine school district and I'd want my kids to go there.

Not saying stuff like that does not goes on now, Greensburg Central has been in some controversy through the years. That Stepoli brothers incident was a mess. They thrive because GCC is right on 30 with plenty of big schools in the area. They can get kids that are good athletes, but might not excel in their district.

But again, everyone and their mother thinks every little player was approached by so and so Catholic school. There hasn't really been any local allegations out in the forefront, kids and Dad's chose schools and make contact with other options. Which is legal, you can send your kid anywehre you want. But if the PCIAA is formed, I'm saying the PIAA has no jurisdiction over the Catholic High Schools, and there would be no guidelines saying they couldn't.

And Animus, Public schools certainly recruit as well. I believe one kid left North Catholic to go to Montour because he thought he would have better athletic opportunities. There has been plenty of noise around Gateway High School as well. Ricky Rogers comes to mind, I believe he isn't playing because Keystone Oaks was upset he left. Its a two way street, almost any school can come up with some sort of story surrounding it.

There is a strong prejudice about Catholic schools in our region, some say recruiting (which really hasn't been proof or anything) but most understand and think the problem is that there is no boundary issue. And clearly that would be more of an issue, than actual seeking out players that some believe go on.

I mean its an interesting subject, and people feel strongly either way.

Thats true, but we are in comparison with Jersey, and I believe they are separate organizations. Maybe I'm wrong.

Whoa... That's a horrible idea. You think having PCC play Geibel or Serra is smart. Heck Gieble got blown off the field against Avella. Yes Avella, the same program that Clairton threw 84 points on a year ago. PCC's 9th Grade Squad would put 70+ on Geibel or Serra w/out breaking a sweat.

OK I meant a big Catholic school classification and small school Catholic classification. So two or three. Ideally two

We just need two private school classes. It is just that simple, put the philly charter and catholic and correctional and academies in these classifications. They have no business in A and AA classifications in PA. Give back the small school classes back to the schools that truly fit the name!

My thoughts are that the PIAA and the individual Districts should do a better job of enforcement. If schools are signing off on transfers I don't see the big deal and fans are complaining about nothing. My biggest beef is when a school fights it, the WPIAL rules that yea its a bad transfer(recruiting or not), and then the PIAA steps in and overrules the WPIAL's decision. I really don't think a Catholic PIAA or 2 separate Class's of Catholic schools. Everyone needs to do a better job of enforcing the current transfer rules.
