i bet if you look at D-5's 3rd place qualifier they have similar numbers
What about Colin Day's top 5 placements @ the SW tournament both years after finishing 3rd @ Windber the week before? Also Fochtman (the younger) and Nickelson qualified for PIAAs after finishing 3rd @ Windber last year.

i actually just looked at the bracket and i couldn't have been more wrong. D-5's 3rd place qualifiers ended up with a .500 record and a couple State qualifiers.

there will be a lot of really good 1/4 final match-ups friday night. Every 113lb and 285lb 1/4 match should be pretty good. I think the match most D-5 fans should watch out for will be Falleroni (Burrell) vs. Crouse. Falleroni beat Crouse earlier in the season and then at the Thomas Tournament Crouse caught Falleroni early in the first and pinned him.

How is Murin behind Burkett and Bulsak? Ranked ahead of both, has also beaten Bulsak.

In general rankings are not a factor.

Burket has R6 points from last year.

I'm guessing that Bulsak has more competition points, enough so that he's high enough that the head to head victory doesn't matter. 106 is difficult to use traditional seeding method points because so many are in 9th grade with no varsity experience.

I was looking at the regional brackets and I noticed Jason Schopp from Tyrone has been scratched.
Does anyone no why?

Jason has unfortunately been diagnosed with an enlarged spleen and is out for at least 6 weeks. :(
