I say what I think about teams and BG is better than HC. I don't just talk about a team because I like them I just talk about the best teams. Just can't wait til konjo admits BG is better than every heritage team out there.

Surprised McCort didn't score one touchdown. Not surprised that not much has changed in the way the team is being coached.

CC moved the ball very well, just gave up the big plays that johnstown is capable of. They will be there at the end of the season.

Actually BG is my second favorite team.... I've had two cousins on the team, including a senior linemen this year. BG could be a better team but at this point there is no reason to say any 1 team is clearly better than the other unless they play, and even then its hard. talking to people i know in the BG school district close to the team they are still afraid of the playoffs. They know their line was outplayed twice last year and if that happens again they wont win D6.

They do have some line concerns still I believe but with those kind of athletes, it makes a lot of things better even with some mistakes up front

athletes are great but its much easier to have anyone run through good holes than an athlete trying to break 5 tackles every play

Konjo, I have agreed with alot of what you said in the past, but you have stuck your neck out on this one.....BG on paper and after one week is much better than most teams in the area, regardless of class. as for HC, it is not fair to make that comparison to last year's team after one game--on paper last year's team was much better.....

sometimes I wonder if you are doing this because like you said, you have relatives that play for BG--maybe you are trying to fire them up! they need no wake-up call, they have talent and size and have been around the block in the playoffs the past few years--in my opinion they are the cream of the crop for Class A at this point....

there are other decent teams in the class of course, but I guess we wait and see how the season unfolds--it has only been one week....that is not enough to judge most teams.....

They don't need a wake up call but to stay down on planet earth. The favorite team in the past 4 or 5 district playoffs ended up not winning d6. The last true favorite to run d6 over was 09 mccort.

When I saw this score the first thing I did was check the Tribune-Democrat this morning. Meyersdale was up 60-0 at half and scored 2 3rd qtr TD and a scoreless 4th. The Tribune Democrat also stated that Meyersdale started putting subs in the 2nd qtr. Scores like this have always upset me due to my first hand experience of being on a team that lost a youth game 80-0, however most of those players were on a Laurel Valley team that went 7-2 in 1982. The bigger question about Ferndale at this point is will this team be able to last nine weeks (I see they have no 10th game scheduled). They had to take a 2 week brake last season. Meyersdale can't be asked to take a knee in the middle of the 2nd quarter.
I have a friend who officiated Meyersdale/ Ferndale. He said it was so out of hand that Meyersdale took a knee twice, just before the half to get it over.

McCort moved the ball on FH, 13 first downs to 9. The difference was the big-play, the breakaway speed of Donoughe and Blough. Donoughe 2 pic-6's? AWE-some.
