Well this has been a weekly college hoops discussion all year long. So I think that was implied haha

Start up an NBA thread, people will chime in.

I have a question about the Georgetown players. When they are on defense, and they all have their hands up, are they trying to block shots, or are they demonstrating the new "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" protest move???

Huge win for Penn State. GW is a good team and Penn State dominated the whole game. By far their best performance so far this year.

If Penn State can consistently play the way they did yesterday, they will have a great shot at 7 or more conference wins. Jordan Dickerson may have had his best game as a Nittany Lion. 4 pts, 6 reb, 6 blocks but more importantly countless times he altered the shot of the Colonials...

Over the past 4 games, Newbill, Taylor, Johnson, Garner, and Thorpe all of had a 15+ point performance. This is scoring depth that I haven't seen in Happy Valley since 2001. In the past, if their big men got in foul trouble they wouldn't have an answer on the bench. This year, Dickerson, Travis, Jack, And Moore all can play efficient enough to keep the team in the game. 6' 6" Taylor can even drop down and play the 4 spot if a Chambers wants to go with a small lineup. That gives PSU 6 options at the PF and C position. This allows them to be able to play aggressive and not fear foul trouble.

I really like this team I am seeing. They have a game in Allentown against Drexal and then a home game against Dartmouth to prepare for Wisky on the 31st.

Penn State may start to crack the top 25 soon. Ending non conference with only 1 loss will make it only that much easier to be in the field of 68.

Pitt had a close win against St. Bonaventure this Saturday. This was a must win for the panthers and yet they still fell into the same close game whole they allow themselves to get into. I am not sure what their record will be at the end of the year but It would not be surprising if they don't even make the NIT this year.

St. bonaventure is a pretty good team. Did you watch the game? I did and I thought Pitt played pretty good. This isn't college football where only teams in the power conferences are good. I really think the Bonnie's could beat about half the power conference teams.

Penn State has a pretty nice OOC resume. They beat USC and VT who are power conference teams, they beat MAC favorites Akron, they beat A-10 contenders (possibly favorites) in George Washington, and they survived several other games against formidable opponents (Marshall, Duquesne, Cornell, ect.). I think it should also be noted that the only loss was in double OT to a team in the top 25 of the RPI. They got 3 votes in this weeks AP Poll and I would guess if they can win both next weekend against Drexel and Dartmouth, they would get a few more.

Don't get me wrong this isn't a Pitt, Kentucky, North Carolina OCC schedule but it is much better than what they used to play under Eddie DeChelis.

Saint Bonaventure had a nice team. Their 7 footer was tough, very raw but productive. I was at the game. I think that's a 20 win team, possibly a tournament team.

Outside the power 5 and the Big East, the A10,MWC, and Missouri Valley are really good leagues. A step above mid and low majors.

konjo, are you living in dreamland???? PSU is nowhere near the top 25. You must have delusions of grandeur if you think their schedule is good enough to warrant national recognition. And you guys have to get off the kick that beating USC and VT was something special. They are just mediocre teams in power conferences. Beating the likes of Cornell, Bucknell, Morgan State, etc, and playing upcoming games with Drexel and Dartmouth, will get you nowhere fast. PSU is going to be hard-pressed to have an above .500 record when all is said and done.

If you say so...

Any way you slice it, this is PSU's best start since 1995. Show me who is acting like USC, VT, and Cornell are great teams. Penn State has been IMO the worst power conference team since 2002. I think every rational fan realizes that VT and USC aren't very good teams but they actually beat them which they have failed to do in most years over the past decade.

You love to stir the pot for no reason.

I can't believe I'm defending Konjo but check the AP poll genius...they received 3 votes this week.

Assuming they win both their games over the next 2 weeks, they should be pretty close to a top 25 ranking.
