Re: Is it time for steelers to get rid of the weed smokers?
Weed is 100 percent a gateway drug...... those kids, 15 through 18 at the time, were introduced to weed by a drug dealer. Weed made the connection and gave them faith in the dealer, they trusted him. Then when he came with herion they had no problem trusting him to use that as well.
Some have recovered some had not but stating weed isnt a gateway drug is absolutely untrue! By telling people its ok to smoke weed you open up young kids to try to find it in the wrong areas and then its easy to get pushed onto worse

Then they had faith in the wrong person... the drug itself had nothing to do with it. I first smoked weed 16 years ago and have never once had any desire to do coke, heroin, meth or any other illegal drugs.
I'll agree with abpk... gateway drug is a phrase used by people to push the war on drugs. I've never met a dealer that opens up his suitcase with an array of drugs and tries to sell the next step up. That seems like a dramatized tv show description.

So they had a single drug dealer that had a multiple year plan to phase these kids from pot to more serious stuff?
I've bought weed off of probably 150 different people in my life and none of the situations played out like that at all. That sounds like a bull **** story out of a book.

Speaking of vices or freedoms which should be banned... I think we should get rid of fatty food because there are way too many fat people out there and its making my insurance rates rise because they can't put the fork down! Maybe if they smoked weed they wouldn't be so fat! Never seen anyone with a weed gut!!!!

I along with abk also smoked weed. I did so for many of the same reasons. I have social anxiety disorder, and it relaxed me for interviews, sales calls, sales meetings etc. When I have a "big sale" I will still smoke, but no longer do so daily, or even weekly. Maybe once a month when the boss is around. I know what you're thinking, "if you have social anxiety, why do you work in sales?" Truth is, it was the first job I got, and I'm afraid of trying new things.....again, the whole anxiety thing.
There is no reason this should not be legalized. Not just in the NFL, but if I want to go to Sheetz and buy a pack of weed smokes, I should be able to.

I agree make it legal and tax. Just dont complain when employers chose to make it against company policy. You have the right to do what you want to your body and they have a right to hold employees of their company for certain standards. Dont like it find a new job

If it ever gets to that point, wouldn't marijuana just be as common as alcohol? Private enterprises can't tell you not to drink on your own time, they probably would have to treat mj the same way. Don't drive or show up to work high or anything, but if you spend your weekends smoking a joint instead of drinking a beer, in a world where it's legal, what's the difference?

Well weed stays in your system for days. 4-10 if you are a recreational user. Alchohol on the other hand only takes hours.
4-10 days is a lot different from 4-10 hours.
