This statement right here is what it is all about anyone can get beat any given day didn't everyone write off Pitt against Clemson or Iowa not having a chance against Michigan it's all about who has the better team that day and who came to playknowitall wrote:Way too much is made about schedules on here. If Johnstown loses it won't be because they played Richland and Bishop Carroll, it will be because Bethlehem Catholic had the better team or played the better game.

Right and Somerset two years ago. Things like that can happen, sure.
District 6 has won 3 state championships since 1985. District 5 has never won one. There's just better football played in stronger districts and more populated areas. It's just kind of how it is. Sure you can have a really good team from around here, but generally teams from Philly, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Lehigh Valley are just better.
As I've said like 3 different times, Johnstown can win this game. The schedule isn't going to decide the outcome, but it's something you can look at and see a difference between the two programs.

Isn't a team molded by the schedule it plays? If you play against tougher competition , don't you have to get better? Was there a receiver that pushed Lowe in conference to be better? Or could he be lazy and not have to continue to improve. Was Barber made better because he had better athletes to throw to than the defenders were? Did he get away with some errant throws that a top notch high school Cb would have picked? Could the Johnstown lineman handle smaller lighter mean from other schools with poor technique? But it is a big difference when they will be up against players the same size and skill level.
I want Johnstown to win, but agree that their schedule may not exactly help them to be all they can be

Those are called upset, Pitt is not expected to be on the same level as Clemson. Sure we all want our team to win, but it is ok to be realistic too.SPORTSGURU814 wrote:This statement right here is what it is all about anyone can get beat any given day didn't everyone write off Pitt against Clemson or Iowa not having a chance against Michigan it's all about who has the better team that day and who came to playknowitall wrote:Way too much is made about schedules on here. How much better did Bishop Carroll get this year?

Who knows? Maybe they could have defeated some Westpac and ICC teams.

My first sentence, is molds teams. If a team is starting at a zero or negative, like Cleveland or BC, then there is less likely to be any improvement. Take CH for example, they improved as the season went on.
