Finally someone with racing knowledge. The way Kenseth is running as of right now IMO he is the stand out favorite to win the first Nextel Cup. Wallace is always very consistant, either it be consistantly good or consistantly bad, either way he is more consistant that Dale Jr. Here is how i think the end of the year will look.

1. Kenseth
2. Gordon
3. Martin
4. Earnhart Jr.
5. Newman
6. Wallace
7. Kahne
8. Stewart
9. Marlin
10. Labonte (Bobby)

what does everyone think about the new tires, from what ive seen there doing what there supposed to do ,wear quicker and make the times fall off drastically, but make it better wrestling and more passing not really, at las vegas last week i believe there were 18 lead changes, last year at Vegas 17 lead changes, i dont see where the new tires are helping to make it more competitive, I just don't see them helping

I'm glad to see Kenseth winning some races....After last year people were sayin that Kenseth should have never won the championship...They don't realize that he was just playin the system...He had a good enough car to win races but why risk anything when your running in the top five racking up the points......I'd Love to see Kenseth win the championship again this year.....Just to show that it wasnt a fluke.......

The reason for the new tires was to create more opportunities for teams with good pit crews to excell and make up time on the pit road as opposed to making a few changes and running for 60-120 laps(depending on the track) on a set of tires and just running in circles luling the crowd to sleep. I also thought that the Rock was the place where this was best displayed. Vegas and Daytona arent exactly tire wearing tracks. Wait till they get to the high speed, high velocity short tracks where tire wear and conservation is a MUST. Thats when the new tire package will have its greatest effect.

where its really gonna show is the short tracks and the 2 road courses. thats where we'll really see how much these tires are gonna effect things and also vegas can eat up tires pretty well because of the flat turns going around that track puts alot of pressure on the side walls and makes them wear quicker than at a track of the same size with banked turns such as texas.
