Wrong. Not the same reasons and intentions. Fake NewsLeeCorso wrote: December 10th, 2021, 8:53 amHow quickly we forget Chestnut Ridge running from the LHAC to the ICC with the same reasons and intentions that you are accusing Somerset of.youngbuck wrote: December 8th, 2021, 9:53 pm Bye bye Somerset, don't let the door hit you on the way out. This is the exact opposite attitude Chestnut Ridge had when they joined the LHAC. They wanted the competition. Somerset and Close want to play in conference where they are twice as big as everyone else, so they can be competitive. Check you later.

Enlighten us, then! What was the reason they left?

Re: LHAC going up in flames?
Wasn't the initial departure because they were on the small end of the conference ? But it was with Shoemaker as the coach who played a role in their return

Re: LHAC going up in flames?
Weren't they playing an independent schedule for a period
Re: LHAC going up in flames?
Correct. Had multiple seasons where they were doing that which included playing teams from West Virginia and Maryland.EnzoLigoniere wrote: December 11th, 2021, 9:50 pm Weren't they playing an independent schedule for a period
Re: LHAC going up in flames?
CR was a football only school at the time and they weren’t very competitive.
Re: LHAC going up in flames?
As was Central in the early 2000s before their departure.
Seems like both righted the ship after they left the LHAC and eventually returned

You play to win the game!!!
Re: LHAC going up in flames?
I'm not contradicting anything you've said, just adding to it. If you were to analyze the individual teams that make up the LHAC, from beginning to now, you'd see that every school in the league has gone through feast and famine times. Seems to run in cycles of every 10 to 15 years or so.reugenev wrote: December 12th, 2021, 2:49 pm As was Central in the early 2000s before their departure.

It ain't over until it's over.
Re: LHAC going up in flames?
Agree, some teams ride it out, while others change conferences looking for a quick fix.
Not arguing which is the best route.
Teams that move often find out It helps especially if the competition is easier.
Kids and parents don’t care what conference you win or what your schedule was when you went undefeated.
Boosters will buy the kids t-shirts and it will generate excitement in your program and usually numbers will increase.
Like it or not it is definitely an option some teams are taking and it may actually work (CR, Central, LV)
I do agree leadership/coaching also plays a part in turning a program around.
