I'm not sure about the pic play rule. But the holding horse collar and deep post turn that they called on Tyrone earlier in the game was all definitely skewed towards PC. I'm not sure what was told to the officials or Tyrone. But that might explain why one of Tyrones coaches told Penn Cambrias coaches they were classless after the game.CoffinCorner wrote: November 9th, 2024, 3:34 pm When did PIAA rules.change to allow pick plays? PC runs one pass play which is a blatant pick play and no refs noticed? Ran it twice last night for huge first downs.
Also the amount of offensive line holding that went on ?
Blatant horse collar at mid field gets waved off?
Then late in the game deep post gets turned by a PC defender?
The other conversation point I heard today was that on the last PC touchdown, PC coach or qb told officials they were going to kneel the ball and then when Tyrone just stood there , they ran a sweep for a touchdown

I’ve seen that pick play. Not sure how it’s not PI every time. Their staff coaches it up well and it works pretty often for them.
I’ve also seen less holding calls this year than in past seasons. I’ve seen def linemen being form tackled and it not get called. Most times I’ve seen it go both ways and not been a big impact in the outcome but they are very obvious holds being missed pretty often. Might need to make it a point of emphasis for next season.
