I don't know that we really have anything that no other school district has. I mean, well, we have an ice cream stand right across the road, but there are those in other school districts.
But this is a sports forum, and Ridge has some quality sports teams. Softball is undefeated so far, football made the playoffs, track finished 16-3 and won the county meet, and the band seems to have a gazillion members. That's probably why. I'm not being a braggart, just saying it the way I see it for now.

Quiet Confidence?
Maybe Ridge just has a quiet confidence about them that makes them a little more popular.
Nobody really likes folks that brag whether they are undefeated or not. With that kind of behavior, you're setting yourself up for people not to like you, you know?
Just my thoughts on the matter.

And Bedford isn't? I mean, no, they don't have farms in the streets, but much of your district is farmland as well. And I know runnerbyproxy, and that Bedford doesn't begin to compare to Cincinnati as far as cities go. So hey, most, if not all of us out here in district 5 are pretty much surrounded by farmers and farmland, at least so far as the general area goes.

Here is an interesting question.
Are the people that reside in Bedford and Chestnut Ridge really any different?
WHat if you combined the 2 areas and created 1 school district. WOuld you be able to walk down the halls of the school and physically identify the area a particular student was from? By the manner in which they talk, act, or carry themselves?
My take at the end of the day is that thee is very little difference between the people that live in these 2 areas.
Thoughts.

That's the point I made somewhere on this forum
And thanks for putting it so eloquently CR Lion Dawg.
What I read here reminds me of a mild version of rival gangs in LA, you know, the same kind of mentality. To "outsiders" the people living in the entire area give the same impression, you couldn't hardly begin to distinguish one from another. But perhaps the young people in the area have to put the others down to make themselves feel better, it's hard to say.
It's discouraging at times to think we continue to point out the differences and don't celebrate the similarities and the good things about any community, even high school, more regularly, isn't it? One thing is certain in my mind, though. Although many years have passed since I've been in HSchool, so many, many negatives things about it haven't changed. I always hope the current generation would be better than us, you know?

ridge is the best
Ridge is so popular b/c we have class. Chestnut Ridge is known for its education and how well it does in its sports. Its a large district and has alot of promising young students. Most of the promising young students are excellent athletes also. If you havent noticed when you open the paper that most of the sports page has a ridge athlete on it somewhere about how good of a game they played. Ridge is the top dog around and will always be.
