Ah, I love the advice Gunner. Good physical soccer...Bedford County style. Show him the American way!

From what I hear the Everett team is making leaps and bounds in their level of play. Obviously they are still not at the top of the league or district, but good things are happening. The exchange student, I am told, is an excellent leader that the kids will listen to (I guess my agressive leadership wasn't very effective). Not to mention that the team is very young. They have one senior, I believe, and only two juniors...something like that. I'm not sure we will ever see a dominant Everett team, but "very competitive" may be coming in the near future.

Sorry for offending you HR. I was just meaning that officiating is something that people do for the love of the game, not as a means of income. Atleast, not a sole means for income.

from what i heard everett's team mates....all buy one #7.. were saying how much they didn't like him.. and if they are letting the german lead them .. that isn't good. it's like BT leading the NBC guys soccer team

Why wouldn't that be good? Obviously the kid knows more soccer than them, he is from Europe. I would say that it is likely that he is better than most if not all of them. It should be a good thing for them to respect him and learn from him. To say it would be a bad thing is just foolish.

ive known many a great atheletes that i would not want to have as a leader. to be a leader takes more than just knowledge and skill, it takes charisma and personality. that doesnt mean that the other players cant learn from the better ones, but sometimes making your best players your leaders can be a mistake.

IMHO.... The red card Lewis received was deserved. It was a tackle from behind in the box.

I am also a biased NB sports fan to by the way!

While I agree that a red card should have been given I think that it should have been a soft red rather than a hard red and I also believe that the the kid from Everett should have been thrown out way before that for take dives and agruing with the refs the entire game. It is a shame braden has to sit out because some european kid can't stay on his on two feet and play the game the way it is supposed to be play....standing up.

Could someone explain the difference between a hard red and a soft red. Most of the soccer I watch is on Foxs Sports International and watching the US Men's Team in WC Qualifying. Thanks in advance.

I do think that 9 for Everett was talking back to the officials too much.

A soft red means that you are ejected from the current game you are playing but you are eligible to play the following game. A hard red is that you are ejected from that game and the next game too.

the only way you can get a soft red is to get 2 yellows in the same game, but when you get a straight red...its a hard red no matter what.
