No, when the score is 32-14, it's not necessary...When their is time on the clock, the game isn't over....It would be like if you were losing and you still passed the ball trying to score......Why wouldn't you just run the clock out? That is putting the same amount of pressure on the defense....when they had the game already won, and the offense is losing...why would they continue to try to move the ball down the field? They lost....

I think in that situation it is terrible to go no huddle and score a TD that late in the game. I could see if they were still throwing the ball to try to run the score up or work on things they normally don't do or do well. But to go no huddle with a few seconds left to score is out of hand!! OH well, Everett had a chance to stop them as well.

well i can say that this scenario is much better than that of bob arcurio putting his starters back in against cambria heights after the highlanders scored twice to bring themselves within 30 of the trojans. he did it to "teach them a lesson", he felt that because he pulled his starters, they should have done the same.

(lol) I find this all hillarious! Once again Southern Huntingdon is in the spotlight of a topic...and as usual its a negative topic. Who cares if we ran up the score. The game is done and over with, we won! I'm sure somewhere down the road other teams being either high school, college, or pro have done the same thing... Weather if it was right or not, it depends on the situation and who the coaches are. Everett's coach had no right to say those comments. I give coach Garlock credit for using it though to modivate our boys, because they needed it. Although we came off last Friday with a win against Mt. Union we still needed all the modivation we could get. With us losing our first 3 games of the season it really brought the team down. Knowing our boys a lot of them have or will read these posting. And will turn all of this into another week of rage to win against Claysburg this Friday. Remember the game isn't over til its over...meaning you should play until its 4th quarter and clock hits 0:00.

i agree with everyone of you that say that we shouldn't complain if Everett gets us back for that. i'm sure they'll get us back sometime too. And to whoever said that just because the everett coach made a disrespectful comment that we shouldn't take it out on the players, the disrespect goes further than that comment. i saw the everett team before and during the game. they took it as a joke the entire time. i've never seen a team goof off so much during pre-game, their players gave us as much respect as their coaches did. i say that if we don't deserve their respect then i don't see why they deserve our mercy.

Yes, you do play, but you stand in the huddle and let the final 8 seconds run off the clock. It shows two things.
1) Poor Sportsmanship
2) Showing that finding the endzone isn't all that often for a football team when they have to run the score up against a lesser opponent.

I expected Swaim to put Bedfords starters back in when CH scored 21 against the JV team. But you know what, he didn't he inspired the J.V. team to step up and make plays of their own, because their time is rapidly approaching. Had Bedfor left the starters in the entire game, the score would have been possibly been over the century mark. I can only imagine a game where southern could possibly be in this position, they would probably try to set the state record. Pathetic, that's all I have to say, pathetic attitude, pathetic reasons.

i think this is a first, i actually agree with ham on this, it's true, sportsmanship is something that really needs to be taught at this stage in life, i watch some of the pro athletes and am disgusted with some of the celebrations they do, it's dumb. but all the same the score should not have happened
