I thought this was a topic on Penn State not making it to the national championship. Anyway, PSU should've been in the national championship. If only they would've made a play with 1 second left on the clock, they'd be there. So, it's not that they got snubbed. They just didn't get the job done.

They got snubbed by the Fiesta Bowl, who had 1st pick of teams to replace Texas.

Can you really call that getting snubbed? They may have had a better record, but must not have impressed the right people. They had a great year, but if you aren't a PSU fan, you actually look at things differently. I'm sure there's a good reason for not taking PSU.

It's not getting snubbed, because it's all about money. Notre Dame would get picked over Texas or USC if one of them lost their place in the national title game this weekend. Just the way it is.

As far as Penn State-Florida State, I'm rather disappointed with it, because it really isn't going to be too much of a contest. Yeah, it's great the Joe Pa and Bobby Bowden get to go against each other, but Florida State isn't looking too great right now. I'd rather have it against Virginia Tech (too bad they utterly collapsed against FSU) or LSU or something. It isn't much to hang your hat on. Really, I'd like to see Penn State vs. Georgia, and Florida State get a shot at West Virginia to see if the Mountaineers can beat a halfway decent ACC team without a passing game. It's not going to happen, but it's what I'd rather see.

Flea, you better get your head out of your ***. That team shows up and plays as well as anyone in the nation when they want to. Their depth is simply unmatched. Did you know that FSU was down to 3rd stringers on their line? Did you know that they had multiple defensive backs injured as well? They beat a team with their depth. They have a top 3 recruiting class EVERY year. That starts to account for something. There has never been any question about FSU's level of talent. If you ask ANY Florida State fan, they will tell you that the only thing hampering that team was poor play-calling. When they want to win, they win. It just depends on who shows up. And I love Penn State as much as everyone else on this board, but FSU has the potential to blow that team right off the field in January. You better recognize that. They still have Bobby Bowden as a football coach. This is not some "not much of a contest" contest.

On paper, FSU matches up with even USC. This is a very classic trap game.

You forgot to mention they're starting a freshman at QB, too. PSU will be ready for FSU. However, most fans like, flea, already have this one in the bag. Bowden would like nothing more than to beat up on Paterno to keep proving that he's the more superior coach.
