Re: Pens
I agree with everything you've said... I don't expect them to beat NYI or Buffalo at this point. I just hope they get beat 3-0 in both games and don't get my hopes up at all. I'm fragile at this point.
Re: Pens
I will say that Sidney Crosby is more of an MVP for this team right now than he has ever been in his career. How many times recently has he got a early goal in an attempt to get the Pens going. He seems have a new winger for every shift and is the only player on the team that has produced consistently since Christmas.
I still don't understand why Johnston has Brandon Sutter take the biggest faceoff of the season last night. I know percentages would point to him over Crosby. But if I'm the coach with 1:50 left in the game and facing a defensive zone draw (with a pulled opposition goalie), the most talented center on my roster is taking that draw.

Re: Pens
Or let Max Lapierre take it... he may not be very good but he's really good at defensive zone draws. Sutter probably would have been my third option.
I agree about Crosby. The national media will put this all on his shoulders I'm sure. He does deserve some of the blame because he is the captain and best player but at the end of the day there is only so much he can do. He is bringing it every single night but ya can't win a hockey game by yourself.

Re: Pens
Exactly and why did he try to tie up and win it with his skate. The Sens have more players on the ice, chances are they are going to win the puck out of a scrum. He needed to win it clean. I literally cannot stand Brandon Sutter any more.

Re: Pens
Who knows... Sutter is a total bum. I can't take another season of him on this team. I have no idea how he was able to score 19 goals this year. Hopefully someone out there didn't watch him play and just looks at his goals and gives a good return for him.
Re: Pens
Sutter lost not 1, but 2 draws in a row and a change was not to made. LaPierre lost the 3rd and Sid was on the ice. I thought I was the only one that noticed that. This is what baffles me about Johnston, he doesn't make adjustments. Cite all the times in the past two months the pens were dragged down from behind after winning by 2+ goals in the first 2 periods.
Re: Pens
Penguins gave up 4 unanswered goals last night but yet they are still yet to use their timeout. They don't carry over, he does know that, right?

Re: Pens
Who will I be cheering for against Ottawa and Philly? Flyers all the way. I'm still cheering for my team non stop and I hope they smoke them. The pens will beat bufallo and make the playoffs you guys are safe.
Best thing is the flyers will be the ones securing the win to let their rivals make it
