Transfer Rumor
Re: Transfer Rumor
only 2 teams (and possibly BC) would blowout the top of the westpac. other than that, its fairly even. people only compare the teams like ferndale, shade, and rockwood when talking westpac. yes those schools are awful, but the rest of the "weak pac" are able to compete with LHAC schools. WestPac schools continue to send kids to play college ball each year.

On a given year Forest Hills,McCort, Johnstown, Central Cambria, Penn Cambria, and even Richland wins the WestPac....
Than second-third tier teams like Carroll, Bedford, Somerset, Westmont, Guilfoyle go from 2-3 win teams, to 6-7 win teams.
Vice a Versa, Portage, Windber, Township, and North Star go from 8-9-10 win teams to 5-6 win teams and Ferndale,Conemaugh Valley go from losing 55-0 to Township, lose 96-0 to Johnstown.

Re: Transfer Rumor
Like I said before, I would hope AA schools could beat up on small A schools. You act they are on the same playing fields! It's not even close! You also wanna put Jtown in the discussion too?
Re: Transfer Rumor
spawfan -- your post is right on!!! There are lots of excellent athletes in westpac -- just not enough to make the westpac competitive. Football is a team sport. You need numbers. It's a pure numbers game. When you have only 16 kids dressed for a varsity football game, you are in trouble. With such low numbers, the good players who want to achieve CAN NEVER DEVELOP because there is NO COMPETITION. It is pitiful. And it's not fair to the kids that want to play. That's why NS and Portage will never ever advance into state playoffs past first round. They have the committed kids, the athletes, great coaching, phenomenal fan and community support -- they just do not see any real competition................. until they reach the playoffs.
The time has come to end the charade that is the westpac.

Re: Transfer Rumor
Jack, what is the common denominator those three schools have that would be one of the reasons they have been sucessful?
Re: Transfer Rumor
but those common denominators don't matter, crush. I mean, c'mon, don't you see that?

2008 - North Star defeated Langley in the first round of the AA state playoffs, thus advancing past the first round.psycho wrote:...That's why NS and Portage will never ever advance into state playoffs past first round
Not fighting the Westpac vs LHAC battle, simply educating you.

Re: Transfer Rumor
thats stupid to disban it? whatd you do with all the teams then jackoffpsycho wrote:Westpac is pitiful. Should be disbanded. But then what would the Tribune all westpac sports reporting staff have to make up? Right now a large part of their time is composed of creating an illusion of competitiveness among these schools, most of which should not exist.
If you think its been bad.....you aint seen nothin yet. With the mental midgets at these schools slashing academic and athletic programs, extracirricular activities and taking away a kids high school experience -- just so they can maintain their little power bases and fiefdoms (not to mention "identities" and "trophy cases")-- instead of CONSOLIDATING, controlling expenses and maintaining some level of education and athletic opportunity for the kids -- the worse by far is yet to come. I look for several wetpac schools to drop football soon.
NS and Portage should flee this sinking ship asap. But they won't because then they would not get their trophies every year anymore.
