Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
I haven't seen either of these teams play and couldn't tell anyone one thing about a player on either of their rosters. I mainly check this part of the site for scores, standings, see who's playing who's this week, and to complete my fearless forecast.
I wouldn't dare make a prediction because it would be about as uneducated as they come but I've seen this song and dance before. Whether it was Chestnut Ridge, or Mo Valley, or NBC, or Glendale, or Portage, or so on. I've seen and heard how this is their year to "dethrone" Bellwood, John Hayes lost his ability to connect with his program, and how their program was on their way to becoming the next Bellwood-Antis in D6. More times than not that same team got on the bus with their tail between their legs and a few years later was back to irrelevancy (Yes CR, NBC, and Portage still have good programs but do compare to the sustained success of BA).

I just think it's funny that everyone is basically crowning Mount Union the new "KING" of D6 when they really haven't proven anything this year or really ever. I'm just saying I have seen this Cinderalla story before time and time again, a team comes into Bellwood riding win streak and having a great season so far with high hopes and the carraige turns into a pumpkin at mid-night everytime: Juniata Valley in 2004, Southern Huntingdon in 2006, Portage in 2010, Northern Bedford in 2013, just to name a few that come to mind and ALL those teams had "BLAZING SPEED" and "There was NO WAY Bellwood could keep up". Same Storyline, Different Cinderalla, Same RESULT. But hey everyone is entitled to their own oppinions I guess hahaha. But enough with all the talk...Prediction time...Bellwood-Antis 28 MU 20

What about Bishop Carroll 2013? If you're gonna make claims like "everytime" make sure you back it up. Wasn't Bellwood up by like 26 points in the first half of that game last year? BC took it to them in the second half if memory serves me right and made them loook...well...average at best.QuoteTheRaven wrote:I just think it's funny that everyone is basically crowning Mount Union the new "KING" of D6 when they really haven't proven anything this year or really ever. Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
Your missing my point. I am talking about programs who are not perenial D6 Contenders. And yes I do remember that game VERY well! Most embarassing Bellwood football game I have ever been to. I am NOT saying Bellwood is unbeatable, you are misconstrueing what I am saying. Yes, Bellwood has lost to teams like Bishop Carroll, Bishop McCort, Richland, and Tyrone over the past few years. But if you look at those teams track records...they ALL have won D6 Championships since 2000, and most of them multiple! I am talking about teams that are down for YEARS like a Mount Union team this year and are having a GREAT season and think they are going to knock off one of the top teams in D6 just because they beat up on a couple teams at the beginning of the season. A "Cinderalla" team is a team who is historically down every year and is having a great season so far, and that in my oppinion is Mount Union right now. But if they do in fact win tonight against Bellwood-Antis I WILL be the first one to applaude them and say I was wrong. I can live with that, BUT until they do that or a "Cinderalla" team like them does that to Bellwood I am not sold.HCQB12 wrote:What about Bishop Carroll 2013? Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
I agree with Raven. I am picking Bellwood tonight
Mt Union has Blazing Speed - News flash, all the big boys put fast kids on the field
Mt Union has some great players - football is a team sport, a good team can stop great players
Mt Union in AA - They were out early last year to a weak Forest Hills team. Let them run into one of their good ones.
Huntingdon and Southern Huntingdon are average programs. Huntingdon was once great but struggling to get regrouped
Don't under estimate the opponent and don't give them a reason to beat you. I am from Tyrone and I will tell you the week of a big game you keep quiet.
I'm not drinking the Mt Union Kool Aid

Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
Like I said before ..I watched both play this year
Im taking Bellwood..They will control the line of scrimmage and get 5-6 yds a carry and eat the clock up..

Re: Mt. Union vs. Bellwood
D6 Championship history or this years ranking? I think MU is a good football team and is the toughest team BA will face until playoffs. If I were to rank MU in D6-AA right now I would put them at #3 behind Tyrone and Central. Time will tell though...TAHS92Alum wrote:Raven where's Mt Union in your lists?
