Kirk touched on something. While they "went for it" and sent a message to the guys. How about being smart and giving them the best chance to advance by saving Cole? And to send them a message, earhole a few of these goofs that continuously buzz the tower on our hitters? Get them the whole plate and those 4 hitters will be few and far between.

I think Volquez has been great this year. Sunday would've been a big time to use him. Meaningful but not do or die. They should've treated the wild card game for what it is, a do or die. They had the ability to use their best pitcher and chose not to

Yes.. He's a great B player but he is not league MVP or A player. He can't carry a team in a post season he's too easy to shut down.
