Well bedford and somerset have the same amount of kids on the roster! Same as your mountaineers. You have like 53, but ferndale, shade, and most west pac teams have anywhere from 20 to 35 kids that berlin plays. Don't tell me about numbers! Berlin has like 20 to 30 more kids to choose from and should kill teams like shade! Shade doesn't turn it over on all those long drives, they beat you! They will beat you in the playoffs because they won't have 6 fumble ints from a qb.

The amount of kids on the roster is not the same as the amount of young men attending the high school. Let me explain this so you can understand. Somerset, being AAA, picks their 50 kids from their 319 kids, AA Bedford picks their 50 from 255 kids, while single A Berlin chooses it's 50 kids from the 126 kids. Shade actually has a few more to pick from than Berlin because of the co-op with Shanksville. They just didn't have as many come out. I tried to make that simple enough. Shade may beat us in the playoffs. They are a good team. I'm glad you noticed, cause they deserve to be noticed. :ymapplause:

anyways, love a speed vs size match up. Is the big team gonna get winded or is the fast team going to get beat up. Very interesting how these games can turn once weaknesses and strengths go noticed

12Hank, you've hit the nail on the head. People are only taking into Somerset's mistakes in that game, and not realizing Bedford didn't play their best either. I think if the teams played ten times, Somerset probably wins 8 maybe even 9 times. They are the better team for sure, but it is alright to admit the other team didn't play well either.

Did we just become friends? Awesome.... Yes, Somerset is better. Should never count out any Bedford County boys tho. Glad I went into the game optimistic. Fun to watch

I agree Bedford didn't play as good as they could have. Somerset is clearly the better team though. I would say Somerset in 7-8 out of 10 against Bedford.

Berlin has a nice program. Def. can't compare the 50 on Somerset to the 50 on Berlin's roster. It's a real testament to Berlin to have that many kids out when they only have 120-130 boys in the school.

I will take Clariton's 25 kids over Berlin's 50 every day

But aside from that where does a team like Southern Columbia come into this discussion as they have always been power running and have not been exceptionally fast and have had great success

They moved up to AA. Some big names bumped up a class and leaves the field wide open except for a possible WPIAL matchup in Hershey.

Just so everyone doesn't think all of us from somerset have the same opinion I will agree that somerset wins at least 8 or 9 out of 10 but I will give bedford credit. They have a nice team and that shouldn't go unnoticed. That game probably could have been worse if it weren't for special teams play of somerset. But it also could have been closer if not for a couple big mistakes by Bedford quarterback. The two pick sixes hurt. Im glad it was a good game because I think it knocked somerset back to where they know they have to play EVERY week and teams wont just roll over for them. Idk if bedford can get by CR but they definatly have the ability.
