Re: Mt. Union vs. Tyrone AA Championship Thread
It's all in fun Grasshopper!!! No hard feelings!!!
I do think this game is going to be the best game of the season in D6. Both teams are LOADED with talent. BJ Loner and Trevon Walker are the real deal and the Trojans just destroyed what I thought was a pretty good Central team. Mount Unions playmakers on turf will be even FASTER! That could be a HUGE advantage for them. If they can cut out the turnovers they have the pure speed to possibily litterally RUN away with this one...
Tyrone has been steam rolling opponents as of late to. I think this game will come down to if Tyrone can limit Mount Unions big plays and force Mount Union into turning the ball over. I think Tyrone has playmakers and the speed to contain the Trojans but not completely stop them. Tyrone needs to rely on its big offensive line, big fullback, and pound the football with quick shifty RB Aleic Hunter. The Golden Eagle rushing attack has taken over games all season and has imposed its will on just about everyone, plus QB Garrett Hunter can deliver strikes to a stable of playmakers if given time. Tyrones offense isn't as exciting as Mount Unions but it can be just as explosive. They will slowly wear you down and pounds you into submission if they want to...
This should be a classic!!! Can't wait to see it!!!

Re: Mt. Union vs. Tyrone AA Championship Thread
Well here we are District Championship week. I know both of these teams have had this in mind since back in August. This is the game that was hoped for and many expected. Thank god both delivered to give us what I am sure will be a great game on Friday night. I would be interested to see if there has been a district final featuring two first year head coaches? Looks like both schools made the right decision in their hiring process.
Like many have said this is a true contrast of styles. Mount Union uses speed to produce big plays on offense. Tyrone uses a ground and pound style to wear down an opponent. Will Tyrone be able to limit the big plays? Can the Trojans be patient against a ball control offense? Who makes the big mistakes?
I see the game as even with turnovers making the difference in the final score.

I don't see where the post was of arrogance. Just stating his opinion like most everyone else. I still feel like a lot are underestimating mu though. They have over come all obstacles put in front of them. Look at all the comments about Centrals defense. It was something mu hasn't seen this year. Supposedly unforgiving. Well they had nothing to stop mu's offense. Loner is a play maker but Walker is just the athlete. In all reality he is faster than loner. There are to many weapons to try and shut down one individual. I know it was earlier in the season but Tyrone barely beat central. 20-13 if im correct. Tyrone barely beat Bellwood. If not for mu's 5 turn overs that would of been an absolute blow out. As long as MU plays like last Friday they win by at least 20.

That's why they play the games. Saturday night on the big stage we will see. And to your point yes close games with Central and Bellwood with a new QB. Did you not have tight games with Tussey? Bellwood? even the So. Huntingdon score was a little closer than imagined. It's about matchups some teams match up differently against each other. I believe that Walker and Loner will put up numbers. I also believe that Tyrone will control the clock. At the end of the night it's going to be close and I wouldn't try to predict in who's favor.

The Mt Union fans remind me of the Richland fans when they first had some success. Enjoy your one year of success and try not to make everyone serectly root against you in the future with your misplaced bravado.
