I am just telling you the feelings of the district residents.
Seems to me they are very misinformed

I don't think this is best case scenario for either PM or WH. Trying to travel 4+ hours for a October football isn't smart or necessary for small schools. Even if the Philly charter wants to travel to PM I would be against it. Why waste tax dollars for what should he a meaningless 10th game... All these problems started when D6 made the season 10 games... It should be a 9 game season with playoffs starting week 10.

man....you guys REALLY need to get outside your area more often...MANY teams have a travel game. It's how you build a perennial winner...you go outside the box, play someone different and learn to adapt. not to mention it wouldn't be October...it'd be week 3 in September. They're willing to travel....so why make such a big deal over this?????????

Because its high school football and teams shouldn't be traveling more than 1 or 2 hours to play.... I could care less if a team played 4 classes up for a game if it was a local opponent but its only a hobby.

Football shouldn't be about making perennial winners but instead just be about getting experience in and having a good time. Its a waste of tax dollars to have a school bus a team 3/4s of the way across the country for a week 3 game. Any school that supports that have ulterior motives and are probably getting large amounts of money donated into their program to make it a for profit sport.

Seems to me like everyone is missing the point. Who cares if Penns Manor plays William Penn or whoever, the point is why is St. Joes refusing to play Penns Manor but still playing other heritage conference teams?? Just because Penns Manor is supposed to be good, they just up and cancel against them???? If they aren't folding the program, then they should play who they have a contract with. Penns Manor is one of the smallest schools in District 6. Next year, if they have a quality opponent on their schedule are they going to cancel playing them???? Those teams in the WPIAL that are in Clariton's conference don't cancel the game with them!!!!

The subject shouldnt be on William Penn, it should be on St. Joes. If they are cancelling the game with one school and not the others then some sort of sanctions should be handed out to St. Joes. What could be worse is if they got another game for week 3.

Konjo, you are right. In District 6 single A they should go back to a 9 game schedule and have at least 12 team playoff system. That means week 10 should be the first round of the playoffs with the top two teams getting a bye.

also white owl i agree about the ST Joe's thing even more now. I was under the impression this was a week 10 game and they didn't want to play it. But if you are dropping a week 3 game you should be heavily punished for it. Can't cherry pick when and who you want to play when contracts have been made.

This entire statement is just wrong in so many ways. "Football just a hobby"? Football is SO much more, it's a molder of men. Teaches many life lessons, you learn to be a team player, you learn values...the list goes on and on. To say it is "just a hobby" is plain wrong. If anyone of you here that played ball agrees with that statement please let me know.

Football. IS about getting experience in and what better experience than traveling to a new, exciting area to play against a team from another area. 3/4s of the way across the country? man konjo, you're sure showing small town thinking there...bet you wouldn't mind them traveling to hershey would ya? but hey, different story then right? And as for ulterior motives for the teams that do travel for games...lmao...I can name at least 100 teams that travel for a game more than 3 hours away...hell, state college does it regularly and so do Altoona and Hollidaysburg...large amounts of money donated? LMAO...you do realize that there is probably not a school out there that actually profits from football right??????

Like I said, get out of town and see the rest of the county

On this website, we're hitting the stage where we want to say football and all high school athletics for that matter aren't important, yet those same people spend a considerable amount of time on a website devoted to high school athletics. Pot/Kettle type situation.

any hobby is gaining experience but playing football is playing football... maybe 1 or 2 players per team if lucky get scholarships for college play. And there are for certain Play for profit schools out there. You think some of these private schools wouldn't have donations to them based on athletics? Just look at the present BMHS situation for all you need to see for play for profit.

Football is just a hobby that kids have, like any other after school activity.
