It's that time of year...
Re: It's that time of year...
Cc could have had Chuck Noll coaching them and they wouldn't have won more then 2 or 3 games this year and mcgregor is very intelligent about football but i don't think he would want to deal with all the other stuff like the planning events and dealing with admin and all that

With Central being ranked #1 in the State in AAA according to PAFootballNews.com and playing in a now watered down AAA class, I think IF...IF...IF...IF Central wins the State Championship, Coach Baker rides off into the sunset....nothing left to accomplish.DCor50 wrote:What about Baker at Central? Keep hearing this is Coach John Hayes's last year at Bellwood-Antis (36th year, @ BA since 1980). I heard the same thing last year, but the reason he came back was he said he couldn't go out with a 1st round blow out playoff loss like they suffered against Portage in 2015.....guess we shall see

Just to think Baker Hayes and Bailey could all be done after this year that would be an end of an era. I have heard Franco might be back as an assistant possibly oc next year in Tyrone.

Peyton if you have a group of kids who win the whole way through midgets and junior high there is a very good chance they'll be successful. Having seen the group of kids they have been very good. Especially when you see those same groups running similar schemes to their varsity programs. If you'd like to nitpick you can but having been through it and seen it, it absolutely translates a lot of the time.
Back when United had their run in the 80's and 90's that group had seven straight undefeated seasons, five of which were unscored upon. Once the midget program was established in the 80's those kids also won several titles and continued it on through junior high and into varsity.

Watered down as in D6 (agree) or statewide? Statewide the roadblocks remain the same. But let's worry about Friday first! You play to win the game!!!

You are absolutely right Costanza! United had some powerhouses during that era, but no way did they have seven undefeated seasons in a row.

if Baker, Hayes and Bailey were to leave , which coaches would be the longest in their position.

Gouse has about 25yrs. So I'm told he should get his 200th career win next year. Does seem that they are grooming a guy to take over. However, looks like he has the will to do the job...youngbuck wrote:if Baker, Hayes and Bailey were to leave , which coaches would be the longest in their position.
