Yea. Like I said though, you do wonder if all of this is simply due to wear and tear and the natural regression of the body. True he's only 30, but these guys do not live normal lives like the rest of us. Even baseball takes a toll on your body over time. Michael Jordan did it for a year, just minor league ball, and has said many many times about how long and grueling it was on your mind and body. I think it's very possible that supplements and performance aids are so wide spread that we don't see this type of decline very often. I think most of us would agree that we're pretty confident a guy like Cutch is not taking part in such enhancing drugs/supplements. Who knows though, it's still a shame.

If we get about 2 more weeks down the road and he is still flirting with the Mendoza line, I think the organization has to seriously consider sitting him. 
The Pirates can't keep running an OF out there with a .205 average and average defense. Maybe a NL team can consistently play a C or SS that hits .205 and plays superior defense but they can't sacrifice offense at an OF position. On top of that, being an average fielder adds to the liability this former MVP has become.  
I too question if this is just an extreme example of what clean(er) baseball looks like. Athletes are in their prime from about 22 to 27 years old. Look at the youth in other sports but baseball has always seemed to have a slew of 30 something's still putting up great numbers.

This Pirates team is like when I went to game 6 of the Pens/Caps. I was so excited. Then as time went on everything was progressively worse until the point of I don't care anymore.
There was such promise coming back....then Kang.....then Marte....then the usual disappointment with glimmers of hope smoldering in the cinders. I seriously have no desire. I was hoping Harper's homerun was a bit higher just to see how far into the river it would've went. My guess is much further than anyone has ever hit. This was the icing on the cake. They crawl back to 4-6 to give us hope. Then BOOM WE SUCK AGAIN. I find myself chewing on aluminum foil while watching paint dry just so I don't have to watch them. Bring Jersey Shore back. Give me Honey Boo Boo! There has to be something better than this. Whenever the Pens season is over and this is all we have, God Bless us. I'll be spending as much time away from the tv and out fishing as possible. Not even going to turn on 93.7 in the truck...
