NCAA Tournament Seedings
Izzo is one of the best tourney coaches around and he will have his boys ready. They can shoot the 3 and defend as good as any team around. They can make some noise and there's no way Nevada will beat them, mark it down.

i dont know what u know about nevada, but i wouldnt make such gurantees against them. they gave uconn a tough game in the preseason NIT at uconn and beat kansas at kansas when the jayhawks were in the top ten. mich. st is not as good as either of these teams making them beatable by nevada. kirk snyder is their main guy and will have to step up w/ a big time performance for nevada to win. mich. st has only 1 win against a team in the top 50 rpi this year and nevada is #42.

I took MSU over Nevada only because MSU's past tourn history has merited the nod in the first round. Izzo is a great coach, in fact the best still active NCAA Tournament coach in the game, if you go by statistics. Unfortunately the Spartans don't have the players this year to get it done. A second round game with the bulldogs of Gonzaga will prove to be too much for Izzo and Co.

if pitt makes it to the elite 8 it will be by a gift of god. they have no offense and cant hang with any decent perimeter shooting team. if they end up beating wisconsin id be suprised, as they both run the same type of game...and wisconsin has played more than one decent team all year.

An easy run to the final 4?? There is no such thing in any bracket... not this year, last yaer, or ever. Any team that makes the final 4 has to beat at least one good, very good team. I don't know if you know much about basketball or if you are just one of those Pitt diehards... but that comment was way way off base.

packerfan--you are also way off base.
Pitt can hang with anyone, because they are one of the few teams that actually believes in the lost art of playing a solid man-to-man defense. I may be wrong, but if you can hang with UConn (decent perimeter team) then you can hang with any perimeter team. Mark my words--Pitt pounds UCF like they should, but then beats Wisconsin by 10 thanks to some great defense by Page. . . OK State vs. Pitt for the regional final would be quite a matchup.

just more wishful thinking from a hopeless pitt fan. pitt has done nothing all year. they played two decent games in uconn twice. they are not battle tested, and have yet to prove anything in the dance. its fine to cheer for your team, but dont act like they are great.

UConn, Syracuse, Providence, Boston College, Seton Hall.
All Big East teams in the tournament that Pitt has beaten, with the exception of a bad call against SHU. Hopeless, no. Wishful, Maybe. Maybe I feel confident that Pitt will come out like they do every game, knock the opponent out of their game with their defense, and score 50 points and beat them. You can't say you aren't wishful that your team wins it. I don't think Pitt will win it all. I think Pitt will open some eyes and impress some people. Over the last four years, which team has won the most games? Look that one up. If Pitt still had Howland--I think they would be better than they already are. Scary thought.

Kohlslaw, I wouldn't say UConn is a "great perimiter team". Ben Gordon is really their only scoring threat from outside and you saw what he did to Pitt. Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, South Carolina and Richmond all have better outside games than UConn and could all pose problems to Pitt. If by some act of God Pitt makes the Final 4 they could be facing a Gonzaga or Kentucky. Blake Stepp will be the best guard Pitt has seen all year, bar none. Kentucky's perimiter game makes UConn's look elementary.
