Re: nfl football
the 49ers are the only team that could beat the eagles right now and this is the truth

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach

Re: nfl football
I dont care much for TO eaither but he is without a doubt a great reciever....... hey if other teams dont like his celebrations then they should keep him out of the endzone...... but that is harder done than said....

Re: nfl football
Owens is marketing himself effectively. Besides McNabb, who do you think is selling more jerseys in Philadelphia than anyone else? He is absolutely choreographing his celebrations, probably with the advice of his agent and a publicist.
To some extent, I think that mocking Ray Lewis was funny. Lewis is just as bad as Owens when it comes to pimping himself in public and dancing around like an idiot. The two of them are almost like snakes trying to eat each other's tails -- maybe they'll disappear into a mutual and infinitely small gravitational singularity created by the respective weights of their own egos.
NFL celebrations have been this way for a long time. Butch Johnson, anyone? The Fun Bunch Five? It comes and goes, although today it is probably worse than it has been for a while. It is almost to the point where someone who would simply hand the ball to the ref and run to the sideline like a Jim Brown would be viewed as a showoff for being old-school about it.

It was good to watch a class act like Curtis Martin Monday night. Score your touchdowns and act like a man, not a clown.

Re: nfl football
i think its funny that all of you are hating on T.O. He's by far 1 of the best recievers in the league. and running routes against players who aren't his equal doesn't make him a coward, but it does make him smart. i wouldn't want to go against someone better than me, unless it didn't matter and i would benefit off the challenge. let him score his t.d.'s and celebrate, putting numbers like that up in the nfl he deserves to get to celebrate.

Re: nfl football
but putting up numbers against people who AREN'T better then him doesn't deserve to show boat. everyone deserves their 15 seconds, but come on, this is starting to get ridiculous

Re: nfl football
Problem is, there isn't any receiver in the NFL better than TO but for maybe Randy Moss, and Moss has an even bigger ego than him. At least, for catching balls. Hines Ward is good, and almost as good as Terrell, but not quite. So long as he doesn't try anything like his sharpie stunt or Joe Horn's cell phone call, I'm fine with any TD celebrations. Keep him out of the end zone if you don't like it.
As far as the Steelers and Eagles, it should be a good game, but unfortunately, where I'm at, I won't see it. Wish I could. My main concern is the Steelers containing a single back passing scheme. Did you notice that when the Patriots went into a single back shotgun formation with 4 wide outs, they were able to go up and down the field at will? I don't think that will be lost on the Eagles. So it will be a very close game, and the Steelers may get beaten in the secondary. The one edge they may have is that the guy across from TO is Todd Pinkston. Hmmm...

Re: nfl football
putting up numbers like he is against ANYONE with enough skill to play in the NFL deserves celebration. and like fleaflicker said, that should just give D-Backs more incentive to knock his teeth out when he goes up for a pass. the thing is he's getting them to play better, but he's still putting up those numbers. i say the eagles will win by 2 t.d.'s. t.o. will have at least 100 yds. and 1 t.d.
