Stop Hillary campaign
Because middle eastern countries hate us now, and have more reasons now than ever, so this is one way they can attack us without actually attacking us. I guess the economy just got bad because of the cost of living also?

Re: Stop Hillary campaign
Oh how easily we forget.
The economy starting tanking BEFORE Clinton left office. In fact, I said the summer before when the economy was tanking that the next President would get the blame for it and Clinton would get a free pass. Then we had the corporate scandals that shook the stock market (again on Clinton's watch). And on top of that, a terrorist attack on the financial center of the US. The stock market was way over inflated to begin with - just ask the dot com'ers. In the past few years we have seen national growth in our economy like never before. I know it hasn't been great locally, but nationally, our economy is strong. But those tax breaks that every single tax payer got have helped get our economy back on track. What's the liberal answer to this? Repeal all tax cuts and increase them, to increase your dependence on the government. The typical liberal response to this is that the tax cuts were for the rich. Well, yes, the rich did get a tax cut along with the poor. If you paid taxes, you got a tax cut. Let me ask, how many of you work for a poor man? What do you think those small business owners are going to do with those tax breaks for their businesses? They're going to reinvest in their business, and ultimately hire new workers. This doesn't happen overnight. But the long term fix is much, much better than short term feel better strategies that liberals so often advocate.
And don't even get me started on the deficit. The government is run just like a business, just like your home. How many of you are completely debt free? How many businesses are? Manageable debt, used properly, is an investment in the long term.
As for oil prices, OPEC controls the prices, not the President. You want lower oil prices? So do I. Whats the answer? Lesson our dependency on foreign oil so the cartel doesn't set the prices for us. There's decades of reserve sitting underground in Alaska and just off our shores right now, but the tree hugger lobbyists in DC are getting their way in preventing that drilling. Sure, let's make cars more fuel efficient and find an alternative, but until then, let's use the oil we have.
Middle Eastern countries may hate us, but they still love our money. They've got us by the you know what though, because they know the liberals are never going to step aside and allow us to drill on our own soil.

Re: Stop Hillary campaign
Understandable.
That's why it's up to us old fogey's to give a different viewpoint from what you see in the media and hear from the liberals. There are obviously going to be those that disagree with me, and that's what makes this country great. But I can tell you that believe very strongly in everything I say on here.
When Ronald Reagon was President, he was slammed by liberals for his views on "trickle down" economics. He made the statement then that his strategy may be controversial in the short term but that it would lead to a stronger economy in the future. I believe that Bush 41 and Clinton rode that wave in the 90's.
Reagon also made statements like calling the Soviet Union the "Evil Empire" in his SOTU. He confronted Communism with a strong buildup in national defense, and brought the Soviet Union (the biggest threat to our national security at the time) to it's knees. At the time, liberals like John Kerry and Kennedy voted against everything Reagon had to offer. Does this sound anything like what's happening today?
Bush 43 has taken on much the same strategies as Reagon. There are some very similar parallels to Bush 43 and Reagon. And while some of his policies may be controversial today, I believe in the next decade we will see our nation stronger than ever.
Hence the statement, "how easily we forget". When it comes around to that, the liberals will have forgotten what got us there.

Are some of the Republicans buddying up to Hillary and the Clintons so as to bait her into running unopposed in her partys primary? Is this a smart strategy to control your opponent?

Oh LP, I never doubted your passions and beliefs on issues like this. Very knowledgeable, and incredibly straight foreward, something that isn't common in today's world...

Re: Stop Hillary campaign
Nobody said Clinton was perfect. But for some reason, and I don't know why, he has basically reached icon status with a whole heck of a lot of people. That's all I'm saying. Hillary runs, she's gonna win.

Do people view Hillary as Bill Light? Or do they see her as her own person?
