Re: GOP Agenda
The terrorists attacked US soil in 1993, less than a year after Clinton took office.....it was Clinton's fault.
The terrorists attacked US soil in 2001, less than a year after Bush took office.... it was Clinton's fault.
Now I get it.

Re: GOP Agenda
My point is that Clinton did NOTHING of substance against terrorists for 8 years. You can't say that about Bush. None of us "Bushies" have claimed there will never be another attack. What we did say is that under President Bush's direction, the likelihood of one on the scale of 9/11 has been diminished.
Actually, there's no doubt in my mind that the terrorists will strike again on US soil. I certainly hope I'm wrong though. I just don't believe they can pull off another 9/11.

Re: GOP Agenda
Honestly fleaflicker I think I could further talking to my cows than you. You still haven't give any evidence or proof of this so called lack or equipment and training. The undisputed fact is that Bush has taken the offensive against the Terrorists. Clinton didn't. Saddam is gone the Taliban is gone. Libya is impotent. Iran is weakening. North Korea is next. The fact is Clinton did nothing to avert 9/11. On the contrary he encouraged Al Qaeda by doing nothing just like Europe did with Hitler in the 1930's. You can preach to the "Michael Moore" choir all you want but the reality is that Bush won a decisive victory last Tuesday as decisive as FDR's in 1936.

Re: GOP Agenda
The circumstances under which Bush fought terrorism were much different than that of Clinton. Would Bush have launched a full scale war on the terrorists in 93 after their mostly failed attempt to bring down the WTC? Well, he may have tied that one to Iraq as well and would have gone after them.
I agree that Clinton didn't do enough to combat terrorism. But then again, that is 20/20 hindsight in action. Remember, nobody was really clamoring over terrorism until 9/11. If terrorism was sooooooo bad under the Clinton administration, why didn't Bush make that a campaign issue in 2000? Why didn't he start any initiatives against terrorists before 9/11? Any president would have reacted harshly after 9/11. It really doesn't make him stand out from the crowd.

Re: GOP Agenda
Southpaw, look further down. I gave links to FoxNews and MSNBC in other threads. One was a letters column with parents concerning their own kids not being protected. I didn't know that those links weren't considered proof. If they aren't, then neither are any of your links to Drudge Report or free republic.
And nothing personal, but I think there are a wide variety of critters that would be more worthwhile talking to than you. You keep telling me that it's all bull, but I have yet to see you offer any proof positive of that. At least I try to back up my claims.

I got a forward email (don't know the original source) which showed a map of the pre-Civil War showing slave and non-slave states and territories. Then there was a map showing the blue/red breakdown on last week's election. Guess what?

foghorn - I never thought in a million years you would play the race card. You hated my comparison of you to Jackson before, but there are times when you preach his gospel. I guess all us conservatives are racist, homophobic, religous zealots - at least according to you and Jackson. Instead of buying into this bull, maybe you should spend some time finding out what the Republican party is all about.
There was another map put out by liberals showing the red states. You know what they called them? Jesus states. How can they consiously demean Jesus Christ? Just amazing to me.
I guess you're going to join in with the Hollywood liberals, like Soros and Moore, and start planning a seccesion. That's been on the airways as well. Go for it.
You should read what Carville had to say about the Democratic party doing some soul searching. I think it's on Drudge. I mentioned this in another pre-election post I made about what he said in the debate I saw between him and Newt.
Is this what the liberals meant by working together?

Easy Southpaw, you are having way to much fun!
I firmly beleive if Clinton would have made a concerted effort to chase down the terrorists responsible for WTC1. Then we would never have seen 911. Even if he would have blamed it on Saddam and went after him.

Re: GOP Agenda
Easy, LP. I just put it out there because it was sent to me. Save your righteous indignation. I think you "enjoy" IT too much, to quote Dawg's comment about Lefty.
There's no doubt the Democratic Party needs to reinvent itself. But it goes both ways. All those citified liberals you guys are so disdainful of because they are so disdainful of you -- maybe an attempt needs to be made to understand them too.
