Even during those days, the defense was still among the nation's elite. Unlike Pitt, Penn State won a BCS game in the first year of installment with the new offense. Pitt, under Wanny's direction, looked cluless and lost to Ohio. Notre Dame, under "mastermind" Charlie Weis, got obliterated by a team that was ALWAYS during the season 10 times better than them, and they beat 3 winning teams, two of which were Navy and BYU, the other was a 6-5 Michigan. They also lost to MSU, who wasn't even bowl eligible in a conference that one of your esteemed BC Pitt colleagues screams all over the place about the Big Ten having so many bowl bids. How about those facts?

118 teams underachieve every year. How about Pitt winning the Big East's BCS bid and then not even being bowl eligible the next season? Pretty big underachievement with all those kids back and only a few months later. When Penn State made adjustments they won a BCS game. Pitt lost to Ohio. Speaking of adjustments, how'd Paul Rhodes do in that Utah game? How about when the same thing was happening against WVU? You know what they say, those who never learn from history...

You harp on Navy, I presume out of jealousy! Vman has demonstrated one thing rather clearly to those who see: 2000 -2004 Navy = Overachievers...same time frame UPS = Underachievers! Can you now leave the middies alone!
