maybe they did not APPEAR to be doing all that well at the HS level for whatever reason but they worked and kept their heads on straight
I do know that Frank probably worked harder than anyone and is a solid kid in alot of respects. But if anyone saw the bm fh regular season game, it was more than evident that he simply does not have "it".

I'm not being personal re. lebda and perhaps he is a safety, and I know that he is a good athlete. But again if one viewed the fh contests last year he has yet to cover one of their recievers.

I do not care if they're from this hill that hill or beverly hills.

VMAN could not be any more correct about Rizzo. If you watched the McCort team last year you would know that Rizzo's best friend on the field was the sideline. He used his blazing D-1 speed to run right to it instead of going into the trenches and perhaps actually taking a hit!

Perhaps he should have persued a D-1 track career with that speed because if he was afraid to take a hit in HS. He won't want to be anywhere near the ball playing D-1!

There is not hate directed towards the Rizzo kid in my upcoming statement but just hear me out.

I have respect for the kid in walking on to a D1 program. But, as you even said, User, the primary ingredient to make it in D1 football is speed...not how good you are as a player. Walking-on to a D1 program is all about numbers. He had speed so he made the team.
Knowing this, how can you say you have respect for him as a football player? I only remembered him playing in one game that I saw last year and in that game he had one good, hard run in four quarters! Did you have respect for him then? I'm not talking bad about the kid these are just observational facts...he was not a good football player he was simply fast.

User, please don't take my comments as hate. What I am saying is that he his a heck of an athlete but when it comes to football you have to be an athlete and you have to have some guts. I did not see that from him. To be honest, I think it was a shame that he was given carries (that he would just take to the sideline) instead of giving more carries to Scott Lewis or Brad Barbin. I understand those two carried the bulk of the load last year and they sometimes needed some rest but Josh Kubinsky was a tough kid who didn't see the ball very much with the first team and I know he wasn't afraid to take a hit.

All congratulations goes out to Rizzo though. Maybe he will prove us all wrong in his collegiate career, but I guarantee it does not happen until he finds that "little something extra".

I was glad to see Rizzo make it on the Navy squad. Hell, gotta give him props for being accepted to the academy. Gotta give the kid credit, whether he made it just because he is fast or not. Probably was a little more than that.
As for carries, Natural, why don't you think Josh Kubinsky is getting more carries this year. I agree he's a tough kid who hits the hole quick, runs hard has some nice moves and has good hands to handle passes out of the backfield. He has performed well when he has been asked to carry the load but hardly ever gets many touches. Granted Barbin and Lewis are two quality backs, but you'd think there would be room for another quality back too.

Pack I couldn't agree more. But to answer your question. I have no idea why he doesn't get more touches. Just as you stated...Barbin and Lewis are two great backs but they also play both ways. I noticed Kubinsky is playing defense as well but I think it would be great to spell Barbin and Lewis now and again and give Kubinsky some carries. He can make some plays just as we all saw when Barbin was out earlier in the year. But no matter what he is still the 3rd best back on the team.

I swear to God guys. I only made 2 posts under this topic. The first one was about all the talk about EVERYONE going D-1, not just BM kids. And I asked again about the status of Shawn Lewis at Kent State. THAT WAS IT!!! Where all of the sudden, under this topic, have I criticized anyone from McCort that might be going to play football in college? You guys are a bit paranoid.

To answer your question..Shawn Lewis is at Kent State. He suffered a season ending groin injury early on in the season. He will be rewarded a medical hardship(redshirt year), because the little amount he played.

While Im at it. Jose Cruz after grayshirting last season (which means due to academic issues he did not join the team until jan of 06') has redshirted this season, which means he has been given 2 years to mature mentally adn physically and will be a redshirt freshman on the field next season.

Jeff Minemyer was also redshirted this season

Todd Koenig is the starting SS for his University of Ohio team, and has led them to the MAC Championship game.

Brad Kanuch is starting WR for UCONN.

Scott Corson has redshirted

Larod Stephens is the Man.

Matt Domonkos is the starting place kicker for Akron, but from what I have heard is having a tough season.

Andrew Hawkins was hurt during his game against Pitt and the boys, I was told it was a serious pelvis injury and was out for the season

P.S. I wasnt sure if you guys were aware that Wayne Jones, the big DT from McCort was also a brother of Artrell, Avery, Andrew Hawkins, and Rashaun Puryear.
