Re: McCort vs. Wilmington
I would just like to know where all this talk about "an easier team" is comming from...
I mean if your in the elite 8 so to speak, which we are in now, your going to play a good team. Also, "an easier team" could be a great passing team or great running team, and depending on how one matches up with the other will decide the outcome. Ex: Steelers (a run-stopping machine) played the Seahawks (who had Alexander, a monster RB)...advantage Pittsburgh. Now lets say the superbowl was between pittsburgh and carolina, id almost have to take carolina(who as everyone knows lost to the seahawks) because im certain that steve smith would have lit up our secondary...but whos to say is an easier team...
so to say "an easier team" is just rediculous to me...worry about who you have to play NOW, win, and then you can worry about who u have to play LATER....

I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."
Re: McCort vs. Wilmington
With the strum of Dueling Banjos barely audible in the background, Vman ponders...... Anyone notice how civil & mature it has been wihtout a certain 'obsolescent one' around being ornory just to be ornory ?
Probably @ Huntin' Camp....rehashing fond Deliverance memories!
Der, der, der, der, der, der, der, der, der.

Agreed, and easier team was from another poster. However, when the WPIAL is usually the standard bearer in all classes from Western PA, the relative term of "easier" team can be warranted.
No offense to McCort. Wilmington certainly looks like a tough opponent.

Well, The Harrisburg Sports writers are not picking McCort to win
Here's what they think !!!

P.I.A.A. PLAYOFFS
CLASS (AAAA) District #3-6 Championship State College 26, Governor Mifflin 21 The weather report screams "running game!" and that's what Mifflin and Dustin Manz do best. But, somehow, we think State High will find a way to win.
District #1 Championship Pennsbury 26, RIDLEY 14 Pennsbury is like a groaning bulldozer. Push, push, push. OK, back up. Now push, push, push.
P.I.A.A. quarterfinals Liberty 41, Frankford 8 Philly champs can't feel bad about having no answer for Liberty QB Dan Persa. No one else does, either.
Upper St. Clair 27, Cathedral Prep 10 Tough to come off emotional win in WPIAL final, but USC is up to task against decent Prep team.
CLASS (AAA) District #3 Championship South Western 20, Red Land 14 Can't see this game as anything but a toe-to-toe slugfest. Not sure what the difference will be, other than the Mustangs having navigated a tougher path.
P.I.A.A. quarterfinals Pottsville 22, Garnet Valley 14 Both teams had to wipe their brows after close calls last week. Pottsville's playoff experience might be the big factor.
Thomas Jefferson 28, Selinsgrove 24 No. #1 beats No.# 2 in Altoona in an entertaining game. It was overtime two years ago; could be again
General McLane 33, Oliver 8 Week off probably won't hurt McLane in this one, even after the long trip from Edinboro to Pittsburgh.
CLASS (AA) P.I.A.A. quarterfinals Wyomissing 22, Montoursville 20 Hope Wyo doesn't need another miracle to win its first state playoff game.
Wilson Area 34, Lakeland 28 Wilson doesn't mind giving up points as long as it scores plenty. Which it does.
Jeannette 28, Brookville 12 Jeannette appears to have a big athletic advantage but is coming off emotional win and must avoid a downer.
Wilmington 16, Bishop McCort 14 Defense is the dominant feature of both teams. Love that "Crushers" nickname for McC.
CLASS (A) PIAA quarterfinals Steel-High 30, Bellwood-Antis 22 Steel-High's motto: Keep cranking out points. Should get enough to squeeze past Bellwood.
Southern Columbia 38, Shenandoah Valley 21 Could be a four-quarter game, but can't see the upset, even though Shendo is a tough nut.
Clairton 42, Meyersdale 18 Clairton's victory over Rochester was enormous for the Bears. Could be a big letdown, but District 5's history is not good. And Meyersdale is a first-timer to states, soooooo....
West Middlesex 26, Coudersport 20 Actually, one of the most intriguing games in the quarterfinals. Impressed with both team's big district championship wins.

Re: McCort vs. Wilmington
OK I have had enough when it come to the VMAN and Moldo. I have been going to this website for years now and you both are quite annoying. I am a McCort fan through and through, I respect VMAN because he defends McCort to the end and Moldo, we know you live and die for the Rangers. But you two just poke at each other like some irritated kindergarteners. The topic is McCort vs. Wilmington, lets talk about that. There is no need to poke fun at the Ranger fans out there. They lost. But however they have gotten the best of the Crushers in the past a few times and we have the gotten the best of the Rangers. It is a stalemate. Let's focus on the young people from our area doing something very special. They are making me proud to be a Crusher fan. FH lost to McCort this year and they didn't make it back to play them again. So give them credit for what they have done. When it comes time again for the LHAC regular season to start up again, then you bicker with each other. You can talk about recruiting (which does NOT happen at BM, and I know because I have gone through there) and we can talk about how great Don Bailey is. Either way, Vman and Moldo....just let it go. I know this board is about disagreements, but seriously there is something good going on here so just state how you feel about the upcoming game. There is no need to poke fun at each other. With that I say...
McCort by 14 or more...I will guarantee Wilmington has not seen such a great balanced offensive attack like this ever before!
