Kephart/BC
Re: Kephart/BC
So because Kephart got a lower grade than he should have, he left Portage for Carroll and took his brother?? Tell me, did the lower grade affect him in any way?? I mean, did it keep him from playing sports or applying to a certain college??? Seems like a rash decision because of a grade that was lower than expected. Now tell me, would he have left for Carroll if they did not have a wrestling co-op with Portage, or would he STILL be a Mustang.
Re: Kephart/BC
Great point,
So Mr Kephart, are you going to allow your son to still wrestle at Portage?

Re: Kephart/BC
So big deal if the Kepharts decided to leave the "Almighty Mustangs". The young Kephart boys look better in Blue & White!
Re: Kephart/BC
Three questions:
1) How can you speak so highly of BC education when the Kepharts have only been there about 2 months?
2) Would the grade situation have been "accepted" if there would have been NO chance for Kephart to wrestle as a senior at BC. Or would it have been pooh-poohed and the kid would be playing football right now for the Mustangs?
3) And are you saying that having TWO kids attend BC and it's NOT really that expensive?? That would have been about TEN THOUSAND per year at BM. As total strangers to BC who showed up out of nowhere, did they get some kind of scholarship?

Mr Kephart
The junior high coaches at my local high school told me that Portage has a good junior high team. They also said that Portage's best player is your 8th grade son. So you have a son still at Portage? Interesting.

Re: Kephart/BC
so your down talking portage education and promoting bc education, whilst your two kids only went to bc for about 2 months and you still have a son who is getting educated at portage? and how do you know that the test grades he put in were wrong? maybe the teacher explained what the student ( your son) did wrong but your student still didnt understand and made a fiasco of the situation when all that happened was your son did not understand what he has been taught. and maybe, as another option, your son missed class more than he should have and the teacher made him take a test 2 weeks later than the others because of how much class he missed for unknown reasons, then the student fails because he claims he wasnt taught. but if that student, like i believe the case is with your son, attended class more often, he would have been taught and did better on the test and not have that problem.
Re: Kephart/BC
Here is a question for all of you: Why do you care so much about a 17 year olds decision to switch schools? It is a personal decision and no matter how much you dont like it bashing a school and saying he was recruited isnt going to change it. And if Mr. Kephart realises the positive effect of BC on his son why would you call him out on it, its not like you around him everyday, he would obviously realise before anyone else. Im just saying, let it go, Bishop Carroll Didn't recruit him

Re: Kephart/BC
Mr. Kephart I would love to hear if you are letting him wrestle for Portage.
Re: Kephart/BC
mc29012: Nothing irks me more than a kid, who is good at sports, transferring from one school to another FOR HIS SENIOR YEAR. First of all, NO ONE on here has said Kephart was recruited. But he DID transfer to BC and is playing sports for that school for JUST... ONE... YEAR. If that doesn't send up a red flag, nothing will. And I think his dad's excuse for leaving is quite flimsy. I mean, because of a SNAFU at Portage involving some grades, he packed up his kids and went to BC?????? I'm really interested in knowing if Kephart would have transferred to BC if it meant not wrestling for his senior year. After all, wasn't the grade problem at Portage directly caused when he missed school BECAUSE of wrestling????? Hope we get some kind of reply soon. Inquiring minds want to know.
Re: Kephart/BC
mc29012: ANY 17 year old can change schools without anyone giving a hoot as long as his new team competes in a division that appears much fairer than the situation PIAA allows to occur...Have privates play in their own District or 'AAA' ball..no one says anything about anyone, guaranteed.
