Re: The Parents at Richland should be Completely Ashamed
If Richland gets rid of Bailey I would be the first one to welcome him down at Johnstown to coach the QBs.
Short of beating up a student or showing porn in class, this guy should be kept around for helping bring respectibility to that program.
Anyone that thinks otherwise apparently has a very short memory of how things were pre-Bailey.

Coach Cal, any input on the McLaurin thing, did he step down as some form of an administrator?
Re: The Parents at Richland should be Completely Ashamed
I should remember this....but Im not sure. He was AD I think, not admin. I could be wrong though.
Re: The Parents at Richland should be Completely Ashamed
I believe that losing Bailey as Head Coach would be a giant step backwards..as a former board member of a neighboring school district you must simply ask yourself is and did he do the jobs you asked him to do.. the answer is simply a big YES..Bailey has steped up to the plate and taken his lumps and has put together a good and solid program that Richland can and should be proud of..you don't fire a proven winner because of a small group of unhappy parents who don't get what they want..the board must look out for all who are effected by their decision and sound judgement.

I would have to ask the Richland Board & Administration to look at the facts and objectives that have been outlined for Mr. Bailey to perform towards in both capacities as a Principal first and as a Head Coach second. If Mr. Bailey has met these objectives, then the decision is easy to move forward with Mr. Bailey in both capacities. Also, the District should surround their youth with a strong leader in these positions since that is the real objective when molding the youth of the District to succeed in life ~ a strong leader can handle both positions and can pay big dividends down the road in molding this success for the youth. Strong leaders can serve several positions if they plan, execute the plan, delegate activities to be successful and followup on these activities as they should do in leadership positions. I never met Mr. Bailey but I have met his father, and his father is the example of a strong leader that proves the theroy of leadership. I am sure his father has taught him the success of being a strong leader. I wish the best for the Richland School District to make the correct decision for all the youth of the District and also for Mr. Bailey moving forward.

Comparing Richland school district from 1999 to now is like comparing apples to oranges.

I've been reading all of these posts citing how being a school administrator and a head football coach aren't compatible. If my memory serves me correctly Richland had Campitelli and Pruchnic as coaches and they seemed to do well.
