Some new buidings might need to be built, older buidings closed due to consolidation. Change roles of some buildings. State is out of money. Same goes for the state supported universities. Some of those need to go or consolidate.

imo on school mergers consolidations that are feasible and some will happen soon maybe not exacty the way I envision them.

Bedford County

1. Bedford/CR/H + Kimmel twp.(currently goes to CK) (High School in Cessna)
2. Everett/TM/NB (High School at Cottle Corner)

Somerset County

1. CT + Windber
2. NS + Somerset
3. Shade, Shanksville, Berlin
4. Meyersdale, Salisbury, Turkeyfoot, Rockwood

Blair

1. Altoona
2. Hollidaysburg + some of williamsburg
3. Tyrone + Bellwood
4. Central + Claysburg/Greenfield twp. + williamsburg\

Cambria

1. Northern Cambria + Cambria Heights
2. Penn Cambria
3. Central Cambria + Blacklick
4. Forest Hills + Portage
5. Richland
6. Johnstown + WH, Ferndale, C. Valley

Fulton County- 1 District: SF, Mcburg, Forbes

Huntingdon County-

1. Huntingdon + J Valley
2. Southern Huntingdon + Mount Union + Carbon and Wood Twp. - both are in Tussey SD now I believe.

There would be some crossing over of townships/muncipalities that would make more sense geographically.

Also imo there would be county wide school boards and superintendents

This ought to elicit some responses

Southern Union Trockets
Mount Huntingdon Rojans

School located in Shirleysburg.

It's a shame we are the Trojans and not the Spartans. If that were the case, we could be the Sprockets!

Southpaw -- well thought out.

With additional cuts coming, the teachers union is lining up behind it's membership by opposing any consolidation at the expense of student education. Harming kids to protect a few jobs.

Millions won't be saved. the increase in enrollment would create additional positions in faculty, maintenance and administration. Transportation costs will increase. Thousands might be saved. Hundreds more likely.

Consolidation should be done ONLY for the betterment of the students, not to save money for the taxpayers.

I would much rather pay more taxes to my school district than pay them to the state or federal government. At least we can see how our money is actually being used. Instead of spending the money on $57 claw hammers and new limo's for the governor.

Completely disagree. If students are going to get the same level of education and taxpayers save $, then it should be done. Ask any retiree in Westmont.
