Another thing is he probably didn't want Kilgore to have to wrestle Sunderland and then a little over an hour later have to wrestle Brambley. That would've been tough for him to wrestle two kids of that caliber in about 3 hours of time.

Still wouldnt you want to wrestles kids of that caliber. When i wrestled i wanted to best kids no matter if i bumped up or down, win or lose. It helped me. and Im sure it would have helped kilgore
Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.

at that point, it would have only helped Kilgore if he could have won....he was already having a tough week....too much in too short of a time period might not have been the best thing....it's one thing to wrestle tough guys, but to do it without the time to watch film and make adjustments in practice is sometimes a difficult situation...

Depending on how a kid takes a loss, it could be a good thing or a bad thing. Generally, that means the difference in the kid being a freshman or a senior. I admit it wouldv'e been a tough thing to do: to wrestle Sunderland and then Brambley. However, if you are up for it, I think you have to do it and it is better preparation than simply getting one good dual match in a night. To wrestle one tough match and than have to bounce right back and wrestle another is really preparing you well for the post season. But I think it must have came down to what was better for the team and what Greg's state of mind was.
