Ken Lantzy 2013
Re: Ken Lantzy 2013
Gee, then how many Richland players actually made the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all-state teams? Seriously, don't you think 13 out of 50 positions is ridiculous?

Tackling stats are usually never accurate. But do teams cheat up their rushing or passing stats for some kids?? I never heard of that one.

Depending on which "all-state" team you are talking about, Richland had 2 that I know of on first team.El-Moldo wrote:Gee, then how many Richland players actually made the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all-state teams? Seriously, don't you think 13 out of 50 positions is ridiculous?
As for 13 out of 50 for the reading area of the Tribune? no, I don't think that is out of the realm of reasonable.
Re: Ken Lantzy 2013
I can see both sides, but when I look at the west pac players and richlands, even the rams 2nd and 3rd team players are better than most of those in that conference. As far as the lhc, didn't richland win that with ease this year? And for stats, richland had them because that offense was non stop attack and they put up 40 a game on the ave. Not from richland, but saw that team play a few times and they were legit. What are some other conferences that get picked for this team besides the west pac and lhc.?
Re: Ken Lantzy 2013
Heritage wasn't that good either. I didn't see the forest hills and mccorts or the j-towns loaded in talent like usually this year either, so maybe those rams were better than other area players?? Just saying! Glotfelty, medva and ferens were probably tops in the smaller schools west pac/ heritage. Other than those 3, not a lot of other players that had seasons like them! Sheesley had a nice season for bv also.
Re: Ken Lantzy 2013
There were 26 teams in the coverage area. This includes teams from the LHAC, West-Pac, Heritage, and Chestnut Ridge.. So are we to believe, then, that this year's local football talent was slim-pickin's. Maybe Richland wasn't that good this year, just everyone else was so bad.
Re: Ken Lantzy 2013
To me lhc is head and shoulders above the other conferences to choose from and have better coaches. Also they have bigger stronger players and more to choose from. So if I was picking, I would be fair, but let's face it the lhc would have more players on these teams because of the size of their schools. The players I mentioned above are the only kids that compare to a lhc player from the smaller conferences. A player like shope, dell, ohler, and donoughue would be mvps or top players in those other sections. And that is just 1 team from the lhc. Most of the players should be from the lhc. Jmo.

That argument falls apart when you look at the Hickory victory and the pretty good showing against Aliquippa.El-Moldo wrote:There were 26 teams in the coverage area. I am not one to beat on my chest and shout about how good my favorite team or players are, but look at the reality of it: This past season Richland WAS that good.
Re: Ken Lantzy 2013
Good as a team. But 13 INDIVIDUAL all-stars???? So beating Hickory entitles Richland to that many all-area players?
