Well, who are they going to hire?
Re: Well, who are they going to hire?
He had an office in the Lasch building just as did Sandusky, Paterno, and eventually Big Red. I believe he didn't cover anything up but I also have a hard time believing he worked there for 15 years and didn't hear/see/know something. It wasn't his responsibility to handle but that will always be a dark cloud on anyone that was on that staff's resume.
Franklin has an interview Sunday and reports out of Miami show that they have great concern over Golden leaving.

That is hard to believe but for the time being, I don't think it's wise to assume.
How does golden feel about golden leaving though? From what I understand he is more than ready to part ways.

Sandusky was considered a football genius throughout the NCAA. When he left PSU he didn't receive ANY offers. I really think it was known all everywhere. Maybe not the details but they all knew something.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever!!!
Re: Well, who are they going to hire?
Charlie Strong to Texas....Penn State has to be top of Franklin's list now
Re: Well, who are they going to hire?
I've heard through a grapevine that West Mifflin's head coach is a former roomie of Al Golden. That would certainly solidify any WPIAL recruiting concerns , if PSU hires him.
It ain't over until it's over.

Re: Well, who are they going to hire?
PSU has visibility in the WPIAL, not a big need to hire a WPIAL Head Coach.
Pitt and Temple both have ex WPIAL AAAA Head Coaches, so maybe they will just because. I think the Pitt coach has a ways to go as a coach, but Pitt got the 4 star lineman he used to coach, so in that regard it paid off for that reason alone. Needs to show me more as a coach and recruiter yet.

To be honest, I don't think penn state should except anything less than a top notch name, outside of the program. They need an experienced coach to guide them through this mess. Or they need someone who has been around the program through all this to get them out of it.
Re: Well, who are they going to hire?
What the f*** does that mean? First off, it accept not except. Secondly, what is Penn State not accepting? Are they going to not hire a coach and they going to file a petition, hold someone captive, ect? If a qualified coach wants the job they will give them an interview. Then you hire the best of that pool. Sorry dude "big name" coaches aren't looking to come coach at Penn State right now.Aoki12 wrote:To be honest, I don't think penn state should except anything less than a top notch name, outside of the program. I'd bet he meant "expect", not except. A little digital dyslexia going on there.
It ain't over until it's over.

I don't think foul language is needed, and yes you are right manfred my phone autocorrected it, but apbk won't miss the chance to get off topic and attack something not even related to discussion to make himself look better. You know exactly what I meant, you are being childish. I really wasn't even talking to you anyway and I guess I'll refrain from doing so in the future if you can't just be normal and not use the f word. I was talking to konjo and others that said that they should take their search to high school and FCS schools. I think this is a bad idea, mainly because lack of inexperience. You can't just bring a coach from high school, where coaching doesn't really play much of a role, into coaching at college where coaching is literally over half of the battle. Especially in penn states situation, do you truly expect a high school coach to be able to guide penn state through the next 2 years? I just don't see it. Maybe with an FCS coach but even then, that isn't true experience at the division 1 level. You saying penn state is not an attractive job is crap, if that were the case then golden, Franklin among other names wouldn't be considering it. What I meant by a top name is Franklin, or schiano, or one of the NFL coaches that has just been fired. It wasn't written in Egyptian hieroglyphs there apbk, so you to playing stupid to try to make me look like an idiot didn't work there bud, nice try though.abpk2903 wrote:What the f*** does that mean?
