Gouse - 200 wins
Re: Gouse - 200 wins
From the beginning of the District 6 playoffs Laurel Valley met either Bishop Carroll or Bishop McCort just four times in the postseason. Of those losses, only the 2008 McCort team won a district title.tubmill wrote:Coach Page likely would have had several more District 6 titles if the Bishops weren’t around.

Re: Gouse - 200 wins
Unfortunately, we'll probably be saying the same thing about Page's son at HC regarding BG. Although they are 1-1 against each other in the championship right now. In 2013 HC beat BG, then last year BG beat HC. This year it'll probably go to 2-1 in favor of BG.Parasite wrote:From the beginning of the District 6 playoffs Laurel Valley met either Bishop Carroll or Bishop McCort just four times in the postseason. If youre including Shoemaker, you have to include Janocko, Clearfield is a true Mountain League member and he is at 250 +Parasite wrote:This is an list that's updated to today (11/13/2017). Bold indicates that the coach is still active. I cut it off at a 75-win minimum. Coaches Bailey, Shoemaker, Beitel, and Wheeler are still in the playoffs, so their win-loss records will be different at the end of the season. I think what I have listed is accurate, but if something needs corrected please let me know.sasquatch260 wrote:http://www.easternpafootball.com/histor ... oaches.pdf

Note 3: The District 5 website's records only go back to 1994. I don't know if Coach Nastasi won any district titles prior to 1995.
Note 4: Coach Riccio may have won district titles, I just don't know when.

That title game info isn't right. I know Franco lost to McCort in the 2006 final.Goldeneagles12 wrote:Not counting this year. Since 94 when Franco came to Tyrone. Bailey has coached in 4 title games without playing Franco 94,98,05,12 going 2-2. Franco coached in 4 title games without playing Bailey 95,00,04,11 going 4-0. They coached against each other in 96,97,99,01,02,03,06,09,10. With 5 of those meetings in the title game. With Franco going 3-2. They got to know each other very well. Lol And I would say much respect from both communities to each other.

I'm going off memory here, so I could have this all wrong. I'm pretty sure D5 started playing for football championships in 1986. Dean McGee would have 4 district championships. 1986 over Windber, 1987 over ???, 1988 over Tussey, and 1989 over Everett.

Your right they did lose to McCort in the final. The years i stated they didn't meet up before the title game or in the title game. 06 they played in the semi finals. Thats why i didnt put that year with 95,00,04,11TAHS92Alum wrote:That title game info isn't right. I know Franco lost to McCort in the 2006 final.Goldeneagles12 wrote:Not counting this year. Re: Gouse - 200 wins
I think Nastasi won 5-A in '93. I recall seeing them and Conemaugh Valley at Mansion Park the week after CV won 6-A. It was an OT thriller IIRC. The Blue Jays won and the next week they got eliminated by Smethport.
Re: Gouse - 200 wins
Added. There is a discrepancy, however. Clearfield's website lists 11 district titles, but D9sports lists 13.TAHS92Alum wrote: If youre including Shoemaker, you have to include Janocko, Clearfield is a true Mountain League member and he is at 250 +
Tim Janocko 1985-present Clearfield Area - 263-108-3. 13 District IX titles, 1 Region 5-6-8-9 title

Understood, the point was Franco wasn't 4-0 when not facing Bailey. All good.Goldeneagles12 wrote:Your right they did lose to McCort in the final. Doug, I think it was the fall of 92 when CV played Northern Bedford
