Whaddaya think, Southpaw -- if Dawg gets back in the game in a few years, Ridge should have a crap load of state titles.

LionDawg I don't understand what you mean when you say about a problem from 7th grade on up. In my opinion the JH programs at CR are a strength. Football teams are good, wrestling team is good, basketball team is good and on down the line. From what I see, yes I played there and still live in the district is that to many people (adults) spend their entire evening telling their kids how the coach or administration is out to get them and these kids then quit or don't go out. A lot of people think just because you show up in Varsity you should automatically play. Wrestling is a great example of that. JH teams are great and then the kids don't come out for varsity. The great CR community response is Clark is a jerk. The real reason is because they can't beat a kid out in front of them with fewer weight classes than JH so instead of busting there butt and getting better we at Ridge use the Clark is a jerk excuse. If you think Dawg this is new you are mistaken. It has been this way for 20 years. Instead of telling your kid to get off the couch and get better we in the community blame the coaches and administration. As I have always said I have never seen a coach make a tackle, fumble the ball, miss an open lay up, strike out with runners on base but coaches get the blame. And yes all of these are practiced. I can't wait for Dawg to begin coaching i am sure the sports will be at all time high at CR.

I agree with Dawg. I think the Jr. High coaches should all be canned. They are ALL a bunch of schlups (especially that Emerick guy)!!

Yeah it is easy to blame things on the coaches because they are tough skin people but you need to have the players doing what the coaches ask of them to do or it doesn't matter how good you are, not too many wins come from that. Yes the coaches are at fault at times and everyone makes mistakes but the players need to do what they are taught and work hard which is gone down some in the 2000's and up!!!

Good post, Hollywood. I know I've harped on this before, but what disappoints me about a lot of hoops players today is that they won't spend time alone with a basketball. I was a very very very (infinity) player when in I was in high school -- but the only reason I got playing time that wasn't mop-up was due to all the time I spend down at the Fort, with just me and the basketball and bats swooping over the Juniata River. What gives? Are people afraid to be alone with themselves?

I'm gonna spend over $400 dollars to send my kid to Morgan Wooten's camp this summer, but when he comes home is he gonna go outside to the driveway and work by himself? Probably not unless I whine.

Some of my fondest memories are shooting alone and playing the entire Celtic season, with me being John Havlicek. Does anyone do this any more?

Fog---Excellent!! Personally, I was more of a college fan and played entire seasons as Sidney Wicks at UCLA and Artis Gilmore at Jacksonville and Austin Carr at Notre Dame!!
