Just to clarify...Muslim is not a race...it's a religion.
I'm in no way an appologist but it's not ALL Muslims that want to wipe us off the face of the earth. Just like it's not ALL Iraqis that want us out of their country. The media blows the whole thing out of proportion. It's small groups of Muslim extreamists that want to eliminate democracy and freedom in the US and the new Iraq.
I think it's pretty clear what Sivits and those soldiers did. It's in pictures for cryin out loud. How much more proof do you want? They've wrecked our national image in the region. They've made us look as bad as Saddam's regiem. They need to pay for what they did. We should be the better people. We shouldn't sink to the levals of tourture and humiliation used by the very regiem we liberated the Iraqi's from.

This is true Warrior, however in the scope of things it has been blown way out of proportion. In the end this will be a small bleep on the radar screen.
A couple of observations. A lot of people are critical about our advancing into Iraq in the first place. Ask yourselves who are we fighting against now? What is happenning to the people we are fighting against? These people are Terrorists. Do you think for a minute they were born a year and a half ago after we invaded Iraq? I doubt it. The enemy is revealing itself to us and we are gathering useful information that will enable us to effectively ward off the enemy for years to come. One more point. If we wouldnt have invaded when we did, I strongly beleive we would have already experienced another 911 incident here on US soil.
I really get tired of listening to all these expert critics who get on the TV and with a holier than thou attitude cut holes in our strategy. What havent we done that we said we would do during this exercise? Who is worse off for it? These critics when asked what they would do to replace the current steps being taken, have nothing new, or different, or better to offer. Not even the Democratic candidate John Kerry.
The only thing that Bush has failed to do is communicate his plan and give updated assessments of the status of the exercise.
Thats my take.

I think you misunderstood my position on the war Dawg. I'm 100% behind the war in Iraq. I believe it's part of the war on terror.
I can't see how liberals don't see that connection. Obviously we are fighting terrorists in Iraq. These are the same people that, given the chance, would utilize terrorist type attacks on US soil.
dangerousmind...check on this...but I believe that Sivits was IN one of the pictures. Regardless of whether he's in one or not, he was a party to the mistreament in that fact that he TOOK most of the pictures.

If you find that picture let me know. Nobody has seen one yet. To me, the subject that he took the pictures is merely hearsay. Even though he pleaded guilty doesn't mean he did it, between him and his lawyer who knows what they figured would be the best outcome.
