Re: What a Failure (USA Mens Basketball)

Well, the USA lost and I am not surprised. As a Temple basketball fan, I enjoyed watching Pepe Sanchez play well. He was interviewed after the game and basically summed up the US problem. He said that the US had the best players in the tournament but basketball is a team game, 5 v 5, not 1 v 1. Sanchez was the ultimate team player at Temple, winning the A-10 player of the year while only averaging about 6 ppg.
George Karl and Greg Anthony basically agreed on Sportscenter that the US men did not play well as a team. They basically blamed the NBA and said that the International game is a better, faster-paced game with less slow-down 1 v 1 play. It was obvious watching the game that Argentina was more prepared and was more of a team than our boys.
