BLEACHERCOACHES GAME OF THE WEEK ---- WEEK 1!!!
Well, for those who wanted to see Ridge choke and lose, I'm sure you're disappointed that the Lions beat BG 28-10 last night at Mansion Park.
Though they made some mistakes, I thought Ridge looked pretty darn good all around. And though I'm not any kind of gridiron expert, I thought some nice adjustments were made at halftime by the coaches.
Of course, I'm sure someone will now say that BG isn't very good -- or something along that line. Well, they looked pretty fast to me and had some excellent skill people.
At any rate, for some of us, marching into Altoona and sticking it to the Bishops seems like a notable achievement. It's a long season, but I don't see how the Lions could have begun it much better.

Great win for Ridge. I wish I could've been there tonight to see it.
It's kinda funny, that the "expert" on everything football on this forum, got this pick wrong. How could that be?
We'll all hear now how BG is a single A school, less students, blah, blah.
Ridge football players - Congratulations on a big win! You guys owed BG from last year.

Congratulations to CR for coming through with the big win. What were some of the big plays last night?
Sure they are a Single A school, but how can it mean anything when they are a private recruiting school? Size doesnt matter.
Lets put a nice string of victories together and make a season to remember.

I agree with Gunner. It would be great for Ridge to play Bedford every year. The rivalry is already established might as well go with it.

In my opinion, anytime a county school beats a Bishop whatever, it is an achievement. Congratulations!

lionpride y would u suggest people argue that BG is a A school? 99% of the time people on here argue that the private schools should be at least AAA if not AAAA, so that argument doesnt really mean a thing, now when ridge beats a TRUE A school, then there will probly b some people complaining about that

I was only suggesting that folks who wanted to see Ridge lose would try to diminish the win by suggesting BG is a single A school. I agree with you, most private schools have top notch programs (:cough: recruit :cough:).
