alcs: sox vs. yanks
Great to see JD come up big time for the Sox -- at last.
I really feel awful, though, for those Yankee fans. After all, it's their God-given right for their team to be in the WS each year.
I know those self-pitying Red Sox fans can be hard to take at times, but is there anything more insufferable than those celebrity Yankee fans that the TV cameras love to linger on? The only thing worse in organized sports is the contingent of those spotlight-hogging Laker faithful.
The Cards are awesome -- but I've sort of come to like the Astros, especially because of Scap Iron's improbable rise to success this year. What a story! Tony L. might have invented baseball and the Cards' hitting and fielding is sometimes close to perfection, but as hard as it is for me to say this, I'm rooting for Clemens tonight.
At any rate -- what a great post-season it's been so far! I've actually sort of forgotten about the Pirates.

What a game!! Thats how a curse is suppose to be broken. I think that Clemens is going to pitch a good game and we are gonna see the Red Sox and the Astros in the world series, but I see the Red Sox edging them out and snapping the curse in half. Go Red Sox!!!

It is really great to see that the Yankees were not able to buy a championship this year. I would of loved to been a little mouse in Steinbrenners office or his luxury box seats as they lost game 6 and game 7. I am sure he was fuming. I have a hunch Torres will be the fall guy here. It was also sweet seeing Rodriguez(spelling) looking at the Red Sox celebrating. I loved seeing them beat the Yanks.

The Red Sox last won the world series in 1918. Babe Ruth was a member of that Red Sox team (he won 2 games for them as pitcher). He was used primarily as a pitcher for the Red Sox. In 1920, Ruth is sold to the Yankees for $125.000. Ruth goes on to become the greatest slugger of all time and win many championships with the Yankees. The Red Sox become one of the most futile baseball teams around shortly after the trade. They did make it to the world series in 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1986 only to lose in 7 games each time. Meanwhile the Yankees won 25 world series titles since the trade. That is the legend of "The Curse of the Bambino".

also, the curse really has not been broken yet because the sox have not won a world series. until they win the world series, the curse will live on.

Johny Damone was unreal. I was just getting off work last night at about 9:45, and I was waiting on a dinner that I ordered from the restaurant I work for. I'm standing at the bar watching the TV, and he's at bat, and I see them flash that he had a single and a grand slam earlier in the evening. Then I see him hit the ball way up and out into the stands. Another guy at the bar says, "Is that the same guy that hit the grand slam earlier?" I said it was. He was like, no way. It happened. That was amazing and incredibly satisfying watching the Red Sox beat the Yankees for the American League Pennant.
