Ferndale Area Needs a new Coach...
Jim Render story. When he took over at USC there were quite a few parents at the edge of the practice field and some on the field during the first practice in August. Apparently they had a reputation of interfering with previous coaches. He walked over and drew a line in the grass. Told the parents that he was the boss and that if anyone crossed the line he would kick their BUTT, and then invited any of them to try. That was 27 years ago and the rest is history.

My apologies to JA. My sources tell me that he in fact did not tell school board daddy what he wanted to hear. He just laid out his plans for the program.
However, it seems as if candidate #3 promised school board daddy the following.......1,000 yards rushing, Ken Lantzy Game selection, and get this; a football scholarship. Some of the other powers-that-be must have got wind of his PROMISES and voted against him. Good for them!
Best of luck to JA. If he can get the numbers up, he will do well. Ferndale doesn't always have the best athletes, but they seem to always have tough kids.
