how did rubal make it? yes, he did have a season ending injury, but when he went down the rams were 3-0 (as i recall it was the first time in 10? years) also, in the 2 games he played he was the leading receiver in the area. he was over the second place person by 120 yards.. in TWO games. that's crazy. it took TWO WHOLE games for someone to pass him.. that's 5 games. and nobody could pass him? if he wouldnt have had his injury, Richland definetly would have had a different outcome and he would have clearly won that receiving award in the LHAC (if not anywhere else)

oh yea nevermind i forgot, all the other all star games work like that too. if someone gets hurt they just guess on how the rest of the season would have went. they shouldnt give it to someone who played every game or anything.

well i know personally you vote the guys that will rep. you best in the game...and those are usually the guys that got you through the year...in some cases it isnt...but i do think this should reward seniors that led their teams all year or most of it...

Alright, This is definatly a sore subject when it comes down to this.

I am one of the two or three people chosen for the Ken Lantzy game who sat the whole season due to a preseason injury. I broke my leg in a preseason scrimmage a week before our first game. I got the pleasure of playing in the district quarterfinals before having my second surgery, and it was a blast, but at 50-60%, I would not be obliged to call that my last football game. We could sit here and say that Northern Bedford would have one more win, two more wins, all that if I would have been at full strength, but I don't play that game. I am playing the hand I have been dealt, and the Ken Lantzy game is something my family, my coaches, and myself have been looking foreward to since August. Granted, this isn't the Dylan Snowberger show, and I am seeing both sides to this arguement.
Why would you let a wrestler or anything wrestle in a Post-season all star tourney, if he didn't fill his duties during the season?
But, Fellas, I'm sure Rubal and I are in the same boat in this situation. We didn't approach this game as a way to steal the spot of someone who filled the bill all year, We are just looking for a way to put the pads on one last time.

You have any other problems, I will elaborate on how I felt every friday night just a handful of months ago. Don't knock on a person who got voted in, even if he didn't play. There will always people who are sour about selections, why don't you tell me the strength of schedule should be included in the number of picks for each team.

I'm out.

Regarding Rubal: Saying that this kid didn't deserve to make it is just creating an excuse for someone else to be in.

Andy Rubal was EASILY one of the top 5 athletes in the LHAC this season. It was a shame the injury that happened, but the kid fully deserves to be included in this game. Last time I checked...the game was called the "Finest 40", not the "Finest 40 that played the entire season".

Regarding Wadley User...you and your boi Vman kill me about this one. I agree...it does suck for this young man that he can not participate in this game...in fact...he should of been able to participate last season.

However, there were other people who should of been looking at this stuff for this young man...meaning someone at McCort...most likely the AD or football coach.

You would think that no one knows the rules down there. Not just regarding Athletics...but Academics as well.

I'm sorry, but if I have a student-athlete as talented as AW...as a coach I am doing everything possible for that particular young man to help him stay eligible, and have a successful high school career.

Now I can see the replies..."Your boi Bailey ect."

That's fine. But at some point you people have to look in the mirror on that whole situation.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

For a senior player who was injured for most of the year to put on the pads ONE MORE TIME in the Lantzy Game, it means that ANOTHER senior player (who played all year) WILL NOT put on the pads one more time. Is that fair?

2 things here...

1. I cannot believe it, but I actually agree with moldo. I just think its unfair thats all, in the NFL do you make it to the probowl when you get injured for the season? No, because they dont guess how good of a year you could have had no matter how good of an athlete you are. That goes for any allstar game...alls im saying is someone got shafted here.

2. Someone please tell me who are the WR's for the south this year....
