That class is talented and athletic. The problem they will have as is the case with most J-town teams is their outside shooting and ability to stay out of foul trouble.

Of course they're talented and athletic. I would have to disagree and say that these kids can shoot rather well from the outside. You are right about the foul trouble but these kids are disiplined and hard working so we should see major improvement playing under Neil Cobaugh.wickedcrossover wrote:That class is talented and athletic. This is the funniest thing I've read of BleacherCoaches. See major improvement playing under Neil Cobaugh??????? I watched him coach at Westmont for 9 years and trust me the only thing the kids are going to improve at is using curse words. I would rather have my kids playing under D.Roman than Cobaugh, I will say Johnstown will take a major step back after losing Roman, and replacing it with the staff they have now.captain earth wrote:Of course they're talented and athletic. Johnstown will get beat and beat often. They will get everything they deserve for their past wrong doings of coaches at Johnstown. They didn't try to keep D.Roman and then they basically forced R.Durham out by the way the handled the hiring process. Matter of fact that was 2 years and a row they did that to R.Durham. Everyone will see what a mess the basketball program will be this year, and they can't blame it on not having the players because the talent they have is crazy good.

It's almost criminal how Johnstown handled the situation with R.Durham you have to feel bad for the guy two years in a row. I feel the Trojans are in an uphill battle this year with this being the 3rd system in as many years and will struggle. I hope they kids do well but, I would love to see the board fall flat on their face for the way they went about hiring N.Cobaugh as the new coach.
Re: Can Johnstown Be Beaten
Let me clear up the conspiracy theorist of BC about Johnstown.
First thing the hiring of Dave Roman at Johnstown was genius. Look at his resume; he could probably be hired as a college coach if he wanted too. You will be hard pressed to find a better coach than Dave.
Second they hired Neil Cobaugh who has been a varsity assistant coach for double digit years. Who has coached in multiple D6 title games. Why wouldn't they hire a coach with that much experience?
I feel there was nothing out of the ordinary about the hiring process at Johnstown, and that it was fair. I believe that the decisions that are made at Johnstown are always done with the upmost integrity. Johnstown is no different than any other school.
I have one request; if the post is not dealing with actual on the court topics please stop mentioning my name with all of this non-sense.
