I forgot about the Cahill boys. That did help Berlin this year and a interesting thought.

Can someone from BC please explain why they have such a hatred for Portage. I am a Windber fan that has been through a lot of big games with the Mustangs. I pull for my Ramblers for the victory but respect the Portage football team, coached, stadium, and fans.

TheRealBleacherCoach wrote:If we wanna talk about McCort recruiting ill be in on that convo just as much as the next guy. But BC and BG are two Catholic schools that do not recruit. BG and BC have been terrible in years past. Started having some good junior high season and those kids started moving up. Those two teams are good because of coaching and hard work by the players. I'm not from either school but I will stick up for them when the kids got them to where they are. Never put BG and BC in the same group as McCort. Speaking of the all mighty Crushers, who do they play this week? LOL!
Bleacher I can't speak for BC Football but I will speak to girls sports. Someone else made this claim and I gave them 3 names of girls that WERE RECRUITED by BC to play Basketball and Volleyball. No I will not do this in an open forum but I did send the names to him in a private email. He relented and agreed. These girls were contacted not by the school but by the boosters and were offered full scholarships and rides to Ebensburg because they were "Good Christian Girl" None of the three accepted but freely admit to the recruiting and reported it to the school AD. By the way these 3 girls and PM won conference and district championships and played in the state final four in volleyball.

:ymapplause: haha, Berlin had one family move into the district that had kids who played football. I heard it was so that the parent would be closer to where they worked. i dont know for sure so I cannot confirm or deny that. That's one case. And it's a pretty big thing to actually move your whole family. Catholic schools don't have to worry about that. They don't have a district. Kids can come from all over the area for the purpose of a "top notch education." With BM, BC, and BG, they don't have to actually go out and find players and invite them to their school to play. Yes that would be recruiting. Not saying that does or does not happen, but I guarantee that parents send their kids to these schools with the dreams of them succeeding in athletics. And yea BC has the most D6 championship so idk what you're thinking their. BG is the only one being dragged in this for no reason. They haven't really dominated in football like other sports

Apples and oranges....minus the bishops you guys are comparing small single A schools to double and triple sized schools. Let's go to a predominantly AAA conference and talk about how forest hills, Richland or even somerset would do. How bout wpial AAA big nine..They would maybe win 5 games during a good year...Let's ask our resident WPIAL expert
