By the way PIAA just sent out the following:
ENROLLMENT CORRECTION MEMO

It has been brought to our attention that many schools inadvertently reported their part-time vo-tech (tech ed.) students in their general population (enrolled) numbers and not in the designated “vo-tech” field. To ensure classification equality for all member schools, PIAA will re-open the Enrollment Submission Portal and permit schools to make appropriate corrections to general population and vo-tech numbers.

Hard to believe these are the 2 best teams in the state. 7-0 BG at the half.

This is bad. I’m here and watching and #9 is by far RBV’s best player. He is 12 yards off the line playing FS on defense and BG has attempted 1 pass. On offense BG is rushing 3 at times and getting sacks while #9 stands at WR. BG should be up 28-0.

Congratulations to Coach Wheeler and the state champion BG Marauders. This is the second time Coach Wheeler has lost his teams best player and found a way to win.

Isn’t that really the point though? I don’t think BG actively goes out and recruits anyone. That’s just ridiculous really…. The issue is that it’s simple for a “natural transfer” for kids from 6A Altoona SD and/or 5A Hollidaysburg SD etc to just change schools because it’s right in Blair county. Most Class A small schools don’t have that kind of draw. I don’t fault BG whatsoever… do the best you can under the rules. I blame the PIAA. If they can’t see that situation is apples and oranges to almost all small public schools and gives them a competitive advantage I don’t know what else to say…. Perhaps the PIAA simply doesn’t care? I’ll be rooting for BG tomorrow because it’s not the kids fault. They work hard…. As I said… it’s the PIAA’s fault for not addressing these situations (and let’s be honest.. we talk about BG because of the success and location here but this goes on statewide and needs fixed)
It's not just a PIAA issue... it's a BGU is exploiting the rules issue. By numbers are they a 1A school? Maybe (let's not rule out them fudging numbers). PIAA could also fix this by only allowing private school to use players who have been in their system since at least 7th grade, if you transfer for your valued private/religious school education athletics shouldn't matter anyway, and forcing all private schools to compete at the 6A level in the postseason.

I feel terrible for all the 1A schools they have absolutely stolen a district and state championship from over the years. Good luck to Redbank Valley on Thursday. They deserve this and BGU does not.
This might be the absolute worst thing you’ve said on here. And that’s saying something. You actually accused a school of lying to the piaa, and the state board of education about the amount of children attending their school. You are terrible.

Easy to do when you recruit and cheat. If the PIAA cares about integrity at all BGU will be competing in 6A next season.

It's been mentioned several times on this thread that it's less expensive to go to a private school than a public school. So private schools hold students to higher behavioral and academic standards and do it for less money? I over-generalized, I'm sure, but if that's even partially true it tells me that some of our problems are bigger than who's crossing what geographical lines for football.
