If Hali's Mom was "unsavory", a doper, a crack slut or whatever, then why, now, after all these years, do he and Dad even care at all? The reasoning for their leaving without her might be, as Laugh-In's Arte Johnson used to say, "Veeeeerrrryyyy IN-terrrrestinggg!"

Doesn't time heal all wounds? If your mom was alive, even though the situation was insane when you were 8, wouldn't you want to at least be on speaking terms? They don't talk very often. That's why I think there's something ridiculous going on there.

I can't even guess as to why he's not a citizen. Is his dad? My best guess is that there's different immigration rules for different places. Isn't that the case? I'm not sure. And I know that doesn't make sense, but I think it happens. Maybe the dad can't prove he's the legal father? I have no idea.

I just talked to Tamba on the phone. He calls once in awhile, he doesn't like talking on the phone too much. Here's what transpired:

"Do you still want me to buy you that iPod?"

"Burger King."
"What?"
"Daddy loves Burger King. Daddy take baby to Burger King."
"Right..."
"Mommy stay in Liberia until Burger King get built. Someday we be as big as Monrovia. I use NFL money to build Mommy a Burger King. Then the war will stop."
"Burger King will stop the war?"
"Don't you see him catch passes on commercials? Burger King do everything."
