BA vs. BM Score updates??
Re: BA vs. BM Score updates??
Well you were wrong. And again, what about that playcall for the fake punt by McCort before halftime. Why isn't anyone commenting about that? It led to a TD for BA which gave them the lead with seconds to go before half.
Re: BA vs. BM Score updates??
From what I've heard before and again on the replay of the game online, Domonkos has the option of either kicking it or running it. He decides. Could, be wrong, could be right. If that's the case, he must have thought he saw something, but ended up being wrong. Everybody makes mistakes.
Re: BA vs. BM Score updates??
It was a run from the git-go. You got about 2:45 left in the half, you're at the 50 yard line, it's 4th and 14, and you got a hard fought 10-7 lead up to that point. You've only given up 7 points in 22 minutes to your opponent. WHO calls a play like that???? It cost McCort the lead, which could have cost them the game.

Just to clarify a few issues.
1. The fake punt call is made on the field by Domonkos. He makes the read and goes from there.
2. The catch in the end zone was clearly a catch. There are 2 pictures:

Note that the ball didn't move from one picture to the next. Also, the call by the ref was out of bounds, not
that he didn't have possession.

Re: BA vs. BM Score updates??
First of all, great pictures.
Second, the fake punt call (which in hindsight looks like the wrong call) is usually a decision made by the punter. It takes a lot of guts, as a coaching staff to put a decision like that in a kid's hands. And thus, mistakes will happen. But more often than not, the fake punt is weapon that takes power in what the defense is giving you. Just like a hot route or an audible, it works much better when the player on the field is making a real-time decision.
I made an almost identical mistake while punting against Wilmington a few years ago. At the time, it felt right. Call it overconfidence. Call it irrational. But when your in a close game, you expect your leaders to step up and put the game on their backs. In cases such as these, the outcome isn't always ideal. But you've gotta love the heart. You've gotta love the balls. And you've gotta love the victory.

Even though the game was a nail biter from the beggining.. we clearly saw who the better team was in mccort.. Sorry calls by referees kept bellwood in the game.. the game shouldnt have been that close in the end
Stay in the present boy there may not be a future. dont grorify your past its gone. simply: Give it all dont hold back. There are no second chances. Live your life
Re: BA vs. BM Score updates??
Good points about the fake punt but most coaches will have a signal or paramaters set so that mis-calculations like that do not happen. But the kid thought that it was a good call so it was a good call that just didn't work.

We need to see the picture after Seidel hits the ground. As I said before he needs to maintain possession after contacting the ground. So far all the pictures have him in the air. We still don't know if he completed the catch or not.

Re: BA vs. BM Score updates??
Why? The two pictures clearly show that he had possession long enough to take at least one step, and he had the ball in his hands when he was on the ground (I recall him holding it up to show the ref). In addition, the ref signaled he was out of bounds, not that he didn't have possession. As a matter of fact Coach Salem was yelling at the ref "why wasn't that a catch?", and the ref replied, "he didn't have a foot down" (obviously not direct quotes). There was no mention of possession.nortnort76 wrote:fuhl America

I'm not sure what pictures you are looking at, but I can see both feet on the ground in both pictures. So far all the pictures have him in the air. We still don't know if he completed the catch or not.
